Reasons aside, a banned substance was found in her system. Clean athletes who raced against her missed out of the chance to run in world finals, have podium finishes or collect important prize money. The ban is served, she has the right to race again like any other athlete. However, without taking any accountability or ownership over the situation - I think you're doing those clean athletes a disservice by providing her a platform to show off her fitness and gain new publicity. I know the views & engagement will be great, I know many people are interested to hear from her... but I'm not sure it's morally right. Just my opinion. Keep up the good work on your videos, very insightful to follow. Callum
@TheRealBrayo11 күн бұрын
what's you definition of "clean?" anything that isn't banned by wada? In this case I disagree. Maybe you have been living in a cave, but there are many products coming out every year that are NOT banned (yet), that are widely used by different individuals for performance gain. Clean to me is running with nothing in your system other than food, water and your own natural ability to train and run. No so-called professional athletes fits my definition of clean because one way or another they are all going above and beyond to gain an edge (legal or illegal currently on paper). Birds of a feather flock together. Just because those said, "clean" athletes are testing positive does NOT guarantee that they aren't doing whatever it takes in many other ways that I could begin to list but that's a long conversation; Starting with Tue's. We're in a day and age where MOST aren't complaining about "super shoes" which surely boost performance outside of one's own ability to run, but the same people are still stuck up on "super supplements" being an issue. Many now banned products like perhaps gw was 100% legal in the 90's, 80's, 70's, etc. and many athletes took it (not all), are you going to talk about all the "natural" athletes that were left off the podium because they didn't have access to funds or connections to benefit off the said substance? There are hundreds and thousands of naturally gifted runners who will never make any team let alone podium because they don't have the funds to travel and train at a high altitude region which is a huge performance boost which closely compares to micro dosing epo, is it fair? this is sport, it's a business. There is no such thing as things being EQUAL, and certainly there's no parity. If you want "clean" sport them remove ALL inceptives and prize money. WADA has scapegoats and she just happened to be one of them at the given time. There will be more.

Can we stop thinking about something that happened 4 freaking years ago??? 99% of people don't know who she is as a person and would never say stuff like this to her face. Or maybe they would and they're just a**holes. We all want to see her have a strong comeback and succeed! To stay motivated to train with no real races to look forward to for 4 years and miss 2 whole olympic cycles is already a huge testament to her rare levels of courage, determination, and discipline. If she manages to make another or multiple world/olympic teams between now and 2028 it''ll be one of the greatest comeback stories in US Track & Field and solidify her place as one of the all-time great US middle distance runners regardless of the burrito scandal! Giving her a platform like this may piss off some people but it's a great way to welcome her back with open arms after serving her time and allows us all to see what kind of shape she's in heading into the season! Great job on the video Gordon!

People calling her a “doping cheat” are acting like she tested for 1000 ng/dL of Test… Her positive result was *not* clear-cut. It fell on the wrong side of several technical WADA rules which are not universally agreed on. I can’t say for certain she wasn’t using, but she got an enormous penalty for a case that was far from obvious.

@lewickerman3 күн бұрын
What's "not agreed on" is not "technical". Having it in her system IS illegal. In either sense, it was THREE TIMES higher than what could even possibly happen with food. Food that others ate and didn't test positive for. She had to have been injecting it for a LONG time to get that high. It IS obvious. And her admitting to it would restore an ounce of respect. Instead she made up a laughable lie and continues to avoid accountability.

@@tylerbrubaker_7 That is a misleading summary of her situation. Also nandrolone is produced endogenously, but in very small quantities (although, notably, levels can be higher in pregnant women). This means that the variance in levels can be large relative to the normal quantities. It’s not testosterone, where if a female tested at ~200 ng/dL she would have to have been supplementing. The statistics are different depending on the compound.
