I don’t think I’ve ever seen a creator’s friends step in like this and create content to help out while said creator was down and I think that’s absolutely awesome. It goes to show just how special and loved Steve is, if you think about it he’s essentially a national treasure. Best wishes to all!

I can vividly recall the first time I saw one of these. It was parked outside a flower shop. I drove past, turned around, and parked to check it out. The owner was quite gracious in explaining what I was looking at. Thank you so much for doing this. You can tell a lot about a man by the company he keeps - Mr Magnante keeps company with some real gentlemen! Prayers and positive thoughts for Mr Magnante's continued progress. Happy Thanksgiving! Just an FYI, there were a small number of different variant "California Supreme" cars made in 1967, which were never supposed to be sold. However, a certain Master Sergeant of the Marines stationed in Camp Pendleton back then saw a Green 67 Fastback 2+2 California Supreme on the showroom of the dealership out there and refused to leave until they sold it to him. Eventually he painted it pearl white with red racing stripes, and in 1972 he was relocated to Camp Lejeune, where he sold it to my dad. Title is listed as a 1967 Mustang GT California Supreme 4-speed manual (he still has the title). He converted the car to 4 wheel disc brakes from a Cougar XR7, and in 1978 the car was stolen, never to be seen again, though the marine that stole it was found in Johnson City, Tn.
@Celician83
@Celician83 Жыл бұрын
If by chance you buy a Mustang from Johnson City, TN with green interior, look in the dash right by the shifter and see if there are 4 indentions in the dash. You very well could have bought my dad's stolen Mustang! He said every time he shifted to 3rd gear he would pretty much punch the dash.

Rick, at 6:02 2 rows behind you to your left is a very rare Cadillac, it’s a ‘78 Biarritz with the optional power sliding t-tops. It was a collaboration between Cadillac and ASC (American Sunroof Company) only 7 were made, it’s not a muscle car but its rarity deserves a mention.

One came to my grandparents dealership in ky and I still have it, build sheet, original title, and original 289 4 barrel engine, it has never been wrecked but the paint is faded , complete car , the tires on it are the ones ford put on it, they hold air but are dry rotted, it's always been kept inside and has no rust, I'm gonna buff it and clean it up and license it again and get it out soon so I'm sure you will see it popping up on people's videos as it gets seen ,i always wondered why they put the t bird taillights in em, now I know

Thanks for keeping the Junkyard Crawl going in Steves absence, The Crawl is a great show and I am always Amazed at how much automotive history can be gleaned from these former Road Warriors of America’s Highways. I did however get a bit taken back as when this episode began we were being shown a what seemed to be a sea of ol Mopars of every make/model, and then the featured car is a Stang Pulled a fast one on us…….. Well wishes Steve

Nice video Rick. Good job filling in. There was the California Special, the High Country Special (Colorado) , the Twister Special (Kansas City), and then the obscure one, the Blue Bonnet Special (Texas). Also closely related is the 'Sprint' mustangs. The sprints were all V6 Mustangs. Seems like a good topic for a U-tube video.

Trivia: My C-code CS had 289-cast heads on a 302-cast block, making it what we used to call a crossover engine. Also, lots of folks think the 14x6 12-hole "GT" styled wheels were part of the package, but they were not. Default was 14x5.5 standard steel. Mine was optioned with deluxe wheel covers, Sunex glass, PS, PDB, and 4-speed manual. I was the second owner in August of 1973, originally sold out of Galpin Ford. Still have it.
