It's the kindness display by Mrs MacElroy toward Sheldon that I like the most. She seems pretty supportive of him and almost protective in her own way. She believed the odds weren't in his favor and wanted to assure him there was no shame in throwing the towel (she was afraid he would be humiliated in his endeavour and wanted to spare him from that).
