@@landrypierce9942 No, I think it was Reagan's landslide that kinda helped solidified the partisan lines which we see today. Back then, both the democratic party and the republican party had right wing and left wing factions. It's not as simple to say that the Democrats were conservative and the Republican Party were liberal, then they just began to flip throughout the course of the 20th century after WW2. Now did something along those lines happen, yes, but it is far more complicated than to say that democrats just went from conservative to liberal and vice versa for the GOP. Mao Tse Tung was the biggest mass murderer in human history. And lets not forget Eastern Europe, North Korea, Albania, and the countless other countries communism infected. Communism has a consistent record of dismal failure. So yes, seems like a very logical thing to fear, hate and detest! We should have gone much further in eradicating communism in the Western World. We're now faced with the withered disgusting corpse of communism rising from the dead, and seeking total power once again. @Candisa Жыл бұрын
@@mmking9517 I think you have a very different from the truth image of Europe. Every country is very different. Here in Belgium, the time we intentionally imported labour from outside EU is long gone. Within the Dublin Regulation all EU countries that accept refugees must follow, three quarters of the people coming to EU will never have a EU citizenship and are sent back because they aren't war or political refugees. The other quarter can only stay indefinitely and get full citizenship if the situation in their home country still is unsafe for them after 10 years. We have programs for people who want to switch careers into building trades, transportation... and we've changed the terms "lower education" and "higher education" to "practical education" and "academical education". Unfortunately it'll take some time before a majority of parents will follow that mindset instead of "my kid is smart enough to become a doctor or lawyer so they must try Latin-Science or Latin-Modern Languages first and only 'lower to' tradeschool if it really doesn't work out," but times are slowly but definitely changing because more and more people realize it's a lot better to learn a trade than to prepare for Uni and then drop out and have nothing. You can't save up for retirement if you can't work or can only generate a very limited income on your own because of disability, or if you had to spend all your savings plus crowd funding to get medical care... The life expectancy of someone born in the majority of EU countries is over 80 years. Unless you die in an accident at 60 after leading a very healthy life, most people will get more out of social security than they ever put into it, not because of migrant labour (again, that time is long gone, migration costs more money than it generates, that's why EU and many countries within have their own programs to rebuild foreign post-warzones, so refugees can go back), but because of progressive taxes on the higher incomes and luxury taxes on expensive goods and property. I definitely don't think the EU is a god gift to earth (well, first of all I don't believe in god, but that's a different story), I'm actually quite interested in how Japan does things, both economically as culturally, but as you say, Japan is an island, so you can't just apply their models onto a giant union of states/countries bordering other countries and continents...

@@labinot1363 I looked it up, i was thinking of the wrong episode. Sheldon noticed the bread in his sandwich tasted vaguely different, and discovered a corporate merger of the company that produced the bread he liked, and were using cheaper ingredients and production means. @@giantrobby5050 That's exactly what happened! The media twisted the story so they could capitalize on making the news story popular. I don't see what Sheldon did was wrong or a communist action. @Christopher Bingham I'm from a former USSR country, and I don't see much reason to be happy that the union is no more. Earlier in my country there was an excellent education, now it is ruined, earlier in my country there was a production of things useful for people, and now it is ruined, earlier my country had a goal to create a fair classless society, and now the goal of any person is to stupidly snatch a bigger piece. Name at least one reason why life in the countries of the former Soviet Union is better than under socialism?
@polikys93352 жыл бұрын
@Christopher Bingham What was in the show is not important, it was made in the USA, no one there will say that life in socialist countries is good. And life there was certainly not the best, but it was such for almost everyone, including those who used to live much worse.
@polikys93352 жыл бұрын
@Christopher Bingham They probably were, people were trying to escape to their families on the other side of the border, and not to a better political system. For example, Angela Merkel's father moved from west Germany to east Germany.

@Christopher Bingham Migration always goes from rich countries to poor countries. Communism emerged in poor failed countries since it's a ideology for poor people. Latinos from every country migrate to first world countries yet I never heard any pro capitalist claiming than capitalism has failed to these countries.
@percelomalsda2 жыл бұрын
@Christopher Bingham Also, while capitalism is an individualist ideology, coumunism is not. Therefore pro capitalism will be proclive to individual solutions like migrate, while pro-comunism will try collective solutions like a social revolution. It would be wrong from you to suggest that there wasn't people in capitalist countries who didn't prefered to live in a comunism county. There were millons of them, we know them as comunists.

Honestly, it's pretty realistic, wben you lack a thing, money, freedom, good bread in Sheldon's case, a system under which those things are provided, such as Communism, appeals greatly. Once you have something, a nice room in Sheldon's case, a system that might take that away becomes objectionable. You give enough money to a hardened socialist, soon they'll start complaining about taxes and minimum wage, you strip a Wall Street Exec of all they have, they'll end up crying out for food stamps and affordable healthcare.
