You don't know why she cried, and no one other than Shelia Eddy knows. Making such a statement is cold and inhuman. Regardless of the acts, it is always possible to have regret and it is possible that the act of being caught brings to light the reality of ones acts.

Marcellus Torres murder is usually committed for either sex or money... i dont think they killed Skyler because they “just didnt like her” i feel like Shiela and Skyler were more than just friends but when Rachel came along things changed so they needed to get rid of Skyler so she wouldnt reveal anything - Skyler was obviously hurt about something going by her tweets and they couldnt risk it especially as Rachel was quite religious so being gay might not go down well in her family. My 19 yr old brother was murdered by his so called "friend". Brian was stabbed 72 times, his throat and wrists were cut and he was shot in the face with a shotgun, close range. His murderer was sentenced to life in prison. At 12 years he had his first release hearing. We fought him, and won. We had to fight him every 5 years, until, at 25 years they paroled him, even though we fought it, we had a video of him saying if he got out he would kill again. The parole board wouldnt even look at it. So now I live every day with the fear that I will run into the murderer, because he lives very close to me. This is our justice system. Justice is only for the criminal. Victims get nothing. No peace, no relief, only fear, anger and grieving for the rest of our lives.

I've think they should change the sentencing laws. Average lifespan (I'll say 80 because I'm too lazy to google it ). Less how old the person is + 15 or more years. So, if a 10 year old get murdered, the murderer gets 85 years A 30 year old victim, murderer gets 65 years That way, the murderer isn't out until that persons life would have really ended.

After the game she played with their emotions during the time her "friend" was presumed missing. How cold can you possibly be? It scares the hell out of me. But again, I have to agree, she wouldn't have meant it considering how she behaved after the murder, and how smug she was in her first court appearance with that shit eating grin pleading NOT guilty. The only reason she changed her plea is because Rachel Shoaf was going to testify against her and get a lesser sentence. So she followed suit. It's safe to assume she's not sorry. She's only sorry for herself.

I know your comment is 3 yrs old but felt compelled to comment: 1. Shelia got 15 to life for M1. Because she was < 18 at the time of the murder, she MUST have parole eligibility. That is federal law; no away around it. Parole is NOT guaranteed; she could very realistically never be released. 2. Rachel pled to M2. She was given a 30yr sentence. In WV, she gets 1 day off for every day served without infraction. So unless she loses time, she is mandatorily released after 15 years. Neither will face charges from PA or from the federal govt. That was agreed upon for Rachel’s plea bargain, and Sheila’s guilty plea.

I once heard a death row inmate say that to expect real remorse from people who commit premeditated murder is a colossal waste of time. They've succeeded at what they set out to do. If they were capable of remorse or empathy, they couldn't have planned and carried out the crimes for which they've been convicted. Their only remorse comes from being caught and punished. It's all about them. He further stated that claims of remorse from the vast majority of such criminals is just another act. He should know. He lives with many such people. He killed his mother with a shotgun, then went on a date with his girlfriend. He'd called her earlier that evening to let her know that he'd be a little late because he had something he had to do. At least he's never lied about being sorry for what he did, for what it's worth.

Melanie and Catherine- Remember that you are most likely hearing " logic" from a"psychopath" and that does not cover all of humanity. Remorse can be real from someone who has killed although it may not matter or carry weght with anyone else. It is a way that one punishes theirself. A sociopath or psychopath sees no reason to do this and pobably has no ability to have such an emotion. Eye opening - yes -to psychopathic reasoning. Not all people who have killed. are pschopaths or sociopaths.
@melaniehamilton6550
@melaniehamilton6550 10 жыл бұрын
Loni Todoroki You make some good points, but I strongly feel that anyone who premeditates murder or violent assault has no capacity to regret what they've done. I realize that not all people who kill are sociopaths or psychopaths, but it takes a special kind of nastiness to premeditate acts of violence. Even narcissism obliterates the ability to empathize with others. Narcissists are not always sociopaths or psychopaths, but the latter two are always narcissists. I'm a little off topic here, but have you ever watched the Ice Man interviews? I was horrified by Richard Kuklinski aka the Ice Man. Some people argue that he exaggerated his final head count, but even if he did, he was a chilling (no pun intended) example of psychopathy, among other things.

It's the justice system. Sometimes the accused are innocent and with no lawyers to defend them, then what chance do they have? Whenever a criminal walks free, it's on the persecutor who failed to get enough evidence to convict them. That's how I see it now.

What a stark contrast she is to Rachel. Rachel sobbed uncontrollably during her sentencing, made a big apology speech and seemed visibly shaken by everything being said. Shelia, however, calmly sits back in her chair like she's in a waiting room. And when she's given a life sentence, doesn't even react. I've also read the things she wrote on twitter since Skylar's death. Shelia has NO sense of remorse or empathy.
@BellaGoth12
@BellaGoth12 10 жыл бұрын
I disagree with you. Rachel read from her paper" I got caught doing something that I didn't want to do." She apologizes to the Neese family (her teachers, church, and Jesus Christ). Later her lawyer asked for a twenty year sentence. All these scum put on the sad face when they want a lighter sentence. I bet you that Rachel is crying about her future (inmates hate snitches) than what she put Skylar through. Eddy is a depraved piece of s--- who is unable to feel human emotion. For her to shed crocodile tears, it is a waste of time and an insult to the Neese family. I hope they used this video to deny her parole. Bottom line is that these girls are like diarrhea and constipation.
@lilithinferno
@lilithinferno 10 жыл бұрын
I actually agree with you. Shelia did not show any remorse, she has tried to shed a tear at times and tried to sound sad but it sounded very forced. Rachel however did show remorse and sadness it was not an act, that is how I felt. Yes she did something horrible and it took her 5 to 6 months to confess her crime and lied to Skylar's parents but I believe that was a traumatic denial and repression of the criminal act she did with Shelia. I believe that Shelia shows psychopathic behavior, like I said before she had tried to shed a tear but she couldn't just as a psychopath would not be able to. She would have never confessed her actions if Rachel hadn't in the first place. Shelia confessed because she thought if she confessed she would be sentenced less than if they'd find out without her confession. I am not justifying Rachel's actions even if she showed remorse and empathy she had still done something horrible and inhuman. I am just saying that Shelia should not have gotten perole for after 15 years, she should have been sentenced to death. (Excuse my english I am german).

I saw the 20/20 clip of the Mrs Neese mentioning that Eddy sat on her daughters' bed and was crying(this is after the imaginary search for Skylar). She was so convincing that the Mrs Neese was comforting her. Another psychopath Ariel Castro did the same thing to one of his victim's mother. These people are incapable of feeling any genuine human emotion(good or bad). Shelia Eddy doesn't give a crap and thinks that she is victim. I am glad that she didn't give a fake speech and waste everyone's time. .

Was the murder, as Canada's penal code would put it, planned and deliberate or as the result of forcible confinement? It does appear there would have been a prima facie case for 1st-degree murder had the crime originated in Canada or been tried in the same country. 2nd-degree murder is easier to prove, in that there has to be a killing that is intentional (albeit with robbery, on its own, not a sufficient motive to justify murder if there is a fatality that results from that robbery [e.g. R. v. Martineau, [1990] 2 SCR 633, 1990 CanLII 80 (SCC), a famous case that made it to Canada's Supreme Court and that struck down a section, of that country's penal code, because the court found that the same section had violated the country's Charter of Rights and Freedoms)]. There is no doubt that Eddy deserved a life sentence, and thus the lifetime monitoring that goes along with it. West Virginia's parole board will be in a better position to decide, when she does become eligible for parole, whether she deserves to be released. That is the way things should be for murder (@ least if committed by anyone who was, at the time of such murder, an adult or [barring hugely exceptional circumstances] a 15-, 16- or 17-year-old).

A think they should get half-life each. Just take the average usa women life expectancy ,lets assume is 76, then take out skylars age when she was murdered (-16) and divide it by 2. That would get 30 years in jail for both of them.

Matthew Chapman, the answer: they know right from wrong, they just don’t care. That’s why nobody should care about what happens to them. Young or old, a murderer is a murderer. A psychopath is a psychopath.

Eligible for parole after 15 years! That's crazy. The only upside I can see to that is that at least the family has a shot at desposing of her after she is released, if she is. Just crazy. People have gotten far more for far less. I don't get our justice system, very frustrating sometimes.
