Love the strut brace to prevent the rusty, broken, sill-free body flexing. What priorities! That is a monster job.

Living in new zealand haS many benefits, when it rains it poors so more rain but in only 1/3 number of days, snow falls mainly jn the south island and only grid is used on the roads, unfortunately older cars like this alfa generally end up at being sold to pickapart type wrecking yard for 150 pounds, with not a spec of structural rust in sight as we also have a very ridget mot system that reject even light surfzce rust before it gets too bad rejected rust problems "have to be repaired by a qualified panelbeater, not your local bog artist

Strut brace, and no cills - very fur coat and no knickers :-) A bit of me fancies an Alfa estate, but the sensible me bought a Pug 306 estate from 2000, fun to drive and not a bit like that underneath!

I would be very happy if you answer.I am a 2005 model 1.6 TS 156 user.Engine renewed thermostat and water circulation were replaced with original parts.But the temperature still exceeds 90 degrees (The line between 90 and 130) It gets close to 110 degrees when stuck in traffic or going uphill.When the road gets better, it drops to 90 degrees again. Do you think this is normal?
@nesim4393
@nesim4393 7 ай бұрын
Could the engine be damaged due to these temperatures (95-110)? (did not lose any water)

If it's overheating in traffic but not at speed it's likely your radiator fans aren't coming on. Could be the fan meotor is nongood, or could be the reisiter?

The system has probably just clogged up a bit over time. New radiator and thermostat along with a good flush should fix the problem if the fans is working ok.

Plug it to the computer and somewhere there is the real temperature. I'd start with that, because 156's gauges are not 100% acurate

Why do people even bother with Italian cars? Absolute rot boxes plagued with mechanical and electrical issues. Nothing changes other than your current Fiat might last twice as long as the 6 years max that your 127/128/131/132 would have. French cars no better nor BMW trash and their atrocious timing chain destroying Minis (Citroen engines).

@@ItaliaAutosThey were much better from the 90s until the rubberised underseal ages and lets water underneath where it secretly attacks the sill areas etc. Plus modem paint on suspension components etc. is hopeless and just doesn’t protect… but not just on Italian cars.
