This is one of my first shelters in the woods. I started building it in the winter and burned it down in the winter. Why? I had a good experience and realized that I would not use it again, but I couldn't just leave it in the woods like that. I cleaned it up after myself. Not a single living tree was damaged during construction.

I don’t understand why it needs to be demolished. It can be used as a shelter for other wilderness travelers. To demolish it in this way is a waste of materials, money and resources.

Thats what I thought when he started tearing it down, especially someone that is lost in the woods and finds it.

I watch these shows most days. I truly enjoy them. I always ask myself, why people who build these wonderful shelters, do not use a backhoe and dig the portion that’s underground that way? Maybe that’s considered the lazy way, but , that’s exactly what will happen whenever I build one. It will still be bushcraft to me. These are some wonderful structures that you are building. I want to get to the finished product ASAP. Is there any reason I shouldn’t? And what is the best material for building? Can one be constructed with 3 rooms as opposed to one? I’m just asking. I certainly don’t mean any disrespect to the hardworking people who do this.

Working in cold conditions where just about everything is frozen and / or covered in snow is very hard. Doing it alone adds to the difficulties - impressive effort. Great to see the bigger project being done with a mate. Like your careful selection of essential tools and equipment - and no unnecessarily flash equipment. That heater of yours is a beauty.

I'll never understand why flat, non-pitched roofs are such a trend with these bushcraft shelters. Not saying it's unique to this build or channel, but it seems to be some sort of unwritten law for these videos, they're so prevalent. Water runs off a pitch, and collects on (and eventually drips through) a flat, guys. All the tarps, chinking, moss, or soil (!) for goodness' sake, won't help. Tarps may be plastic, but they're not indestructible. Even flat-roofed commercial buildings have scientifically-designed roof membranes and systems that need to be serviced every few years. A simple pitched roof, with some sort of shingling, that overlaps top over bottom (NOT the other way around!), not randomized branches, etc., but a proper pitched, shingled roof, will keep one dry and comfortable. How complicated is a simple ridge pole, or even one wall taller than the other? You create a cup and nature WILL fill it up! Geez!

I don’t get or understand how you or anyone can just build a cabin in he woods unless you own the land! U could not do that here in Mt without owning the property! Ppl have asked this question before but no one answers it 🤨🤔🙃

Why not leave it there. It might have saved someone's life in winter. Seems like a childish thing to do " if I can't use it nobody can" . Like a temper tantrum 5 year old takes his ball and goes home. Only much worse. What a clown
