For me, this is their best song. Thick, nervous guitar riffs, a fantastic bass line, sprinkled by stellar micro licks, amazing drums and an excellent guitar solo, popping in like a guest with an unannounced gift.

SECRET MY LIPS IS AN ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE!! The guitars are so full and dirty-crunch! Akane is constantly changing up her kick patterns and Miku’s and Saiki’s vocal harmonies are beautiful AF!💪🏻🤘🏻 Edit: Also Kanami lays down this BLISTERING, BLAZING lead fill the entire length of the choruses!🤯

When you have time you should definitely check out their sister song to this "Secret Maiko Lips". As an april fools joke, they said they were changing their image to a Geisha style. The song is redone in that get up and incorporates some really cool old school Japanese string instruments.

That little jazzy break was great, and y'alls facial reaction was like "woah cool!" 🤣 This is driving music. The kind you listen to when you're out cruising the streets. Maybe a little racing down the highway type music. What to pick next🤔🤔🤔 They don't have a bad song. Onset. Onset is a straight up instrumental. It's a jam. If you do this one you'll probably do the live version instead of the "secret" music video which I prefer. The camera work on the live version is epileptic inducing. Blooming is just a great rocking song. But because of the instrumental aspect of Onset, I'm going to vote Onset.

Just have to mention this about Akane. Although a lot of people refer to Akane as a Gorilla, I find that she's much too precise and accurate for me to think of her in those terms. She can certainly be animated and active in her performance. But underlying that is her timing and feel. I still have trouble getting my mind around the timing and mixing of her double kick among her other patterns. She's a special talent that one.

Secret My Lips is one of my favorites from them. And I think 'Secret MAIKO Lips' may be even better. There's just something about Saiki's vocals in the song. It's like she's almost pleading with someone. And the instruments are so fast-paced and catchy.

BTW please consider Band-Maiko as a side project of Band-Maid. Because that is what they really are. Only two of nine Band-Maiko songs were released on April first which is just another day in Japan. And only one song was written exclusively for Band-Maiko and that is Gion-cho. The MV for that astounding work of art has full and accurate translation. Please read the lyrics. Extremely adult subject matter and production values off the hook. Sacramento loves Band-Maid.

Hey guys, I just binged your videos and would like to say great job. If you’re interested in other groups in the Asian area, check out The Hu (pronounced “who”). They’re a Mongolian rock/folk metal group that uses traditional Mongolian instruments and throat singing. They’re the first real musical group to become part of Star Wars canon. Their song “Black Thunder” is used in the video game “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order”. They rewrote the song in an “alien” language and recorded it for the game. That song was renamed “Sugaan Essena”. They have several awesome songs to check out.

If you do react to The Hu, please don’t do their collaborations with other artists. IMO those are not as good and was unnecessary. It was done so they could get more radio play here. Many radio stations and the record label wanted to put English context in the songs for the masses.
