Extremely dramatized version of a true story about a little boy who was not able to be exercised until someone sincerely prayed and knocked off the empty religious practices. Puking was real, arching around was real, head spinning very fake. Read mark 16 part of the great commission is you will know they are Christians as they deliver people from demons.

Too many things brought me back to my childhood! My phone actually try to autocorrect childhood to crisis…so you can tell how I feel about many of those memories😂! I couldn’t even do schoolwork if it had a pumpkin on it. My parents had good intentions but just went a little overboard😅 We do things different for our kiddos now to have balance but my goodness they look at me strange when I watch videos like this and say I relate!
@estherknispel98412 жыл бұрын
Just out of curiosity if you don't mind me asking. What exactly do you do with your kids?
@elizajensen94212 жыл бұрын
@@estherknispel9841 they are now 16 & 18 but we have let them trick or treat since they were babies and go to Halloween parties with friends etc. We just had the rule of no dressing up all bloody or satanic and neither of them ever wanted to. They always said there were plenty of things to pick from they enjoyed so they didn’t care about that rule. Being covered in fake vomit or like their heads being cut off never appealed to them😂. They may end up doing something different with their kiddos and that’s their choice. My husband’s family grew up in the same church as I did and full on decorated and dressed up every year. He came up with the idea for the rule because I never wanted our kids to feel like the weirdo I did growing up. I just see it as a fun way to go around with friends and get candy as long as you make it about that.

As a kid: went to harvest festivals, I’ve never trick/trunk or treated, we read about the origins of Halloween (Honestly origins of most of the holidays aren’t great) so carving anything into a pumpkin was a no go, and now as mom I just bypass the whole thing and we celebrate Reformation Day with all the themed treats and my kids love it. Sidenote: I also buy them all the costumes they could ever wish for all year long, possibly living out my own childhood dreams of wanting to be a Disney princess haha

I babysat a family that wasn't into sugar. Totally fine but it was weird to learn the "one Smartie" rule wasn't a roll of Smarties per kid. IT WAS ONE TINY SMARTIE. For the whole day. At that point, in my then-14-year-old-self, thought WHY BOTHER? I was a fav babysitter since I didn't learn that til after the fact so they got a whole "roll." 🤣

I was so sheltered that the only time we dressed for halloween was at 1 church event, called hallelujah hoedown😂 No candy was given, we never went trick or treating or evangelizing, no carving pumpkins, no scary movies. We were the weird house that turned off all the lights.
@SRose-vp6ew2 жыл бұрын
Our community had a few evil tragedies the past few years. There were maybe 30 trick or treating in our US city, but churches with fall feasts were packed. Believer or not the idea of going to strangers doors died when it got dangerous and we started seeing innocent people harmed by evil people. People’s decorations were less gruesome this year too. It was noticeable. Those that do it still go all out but it’s been fewer and fewer people the past three years. Part of me wonders if it’s mostly Christians still doing it because others are seriously dealing with trauma from the dark issues in our area.
