Well well, good morning Sir!!! I sure like that Gibson double cut hanging out on the wall behind you... That guitar at 5:45 reminds me of Willie Nelsons guitar.. Have a great day my friend..

On the older Gibson guitars, made in the 60's, they usually had a solid top and back with laminated sides (especially in the J series, like the J45 and even my Texan). But yes, as you have shown, you can really tell on the sides, from all the small cracks. My 65 Texan has that same, little cracks syndrome, in the sides (just on the base side/forward area though). It's also crazy how almost every guitar, over @ $150.00, today have solid tops. My guess is that they are using B grade or worse materials. Who knows..lol .. Another Great video, keep them coming.

Nice to see a video on saturday morning. Another successful repair 👍 Not sure if it was the mic capture ...but the Daddario strings sounded much better than the Martin. Good job! 😊

As always, great work, Scott! I wish I had thought about using paste wax as an anti-stick surface treatment a while back. I picked up a bottle of Hot Stuff super glue from LMII before they closed, and I can't remove either the cap or the nozzle from the bottle anymore. Anyone have any tips on a good way to salvage it? There's still quite a bit left in the bottle. Obviously, I could puncture it and drain it out, but what could I store it in where it wouldn't become trapped again? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

StewMac sells empty superglue bottles. I would try vise grips to break the crusty lid off. Maybe worth a try

@@harpethguitar Thanks for the tip on the empty bottles! I'd thought about trying to break it free with a pair of vise grips or channel locks, but I'm worried about spilling it all over myself, haha. I got some on a microfleece shirt one day, and it started smoking so much that I thought I was about to burst into flames, lol. I'll just pick up an empty bottle and chop the top off the old one and dump it out into the new one. Thanks again!

Thanks! D’Addario says I can send them in for recycling when I have 15lbs. (Which I think I finally have after 5 years) I’ll find out soon!

@@harpethguitarif you’re using daddarios often, stack those empty packages up and then use those players circle codes for their rewards program. Basically you get 1 free pack of strings for every 8 codes you punch in. My personal guitars stay in fresh strings because my customers use D’Addarios and don’t care about the codes 😂

Why did you have to redrill the bridgeholes?

The bridge plate /pin hole repair left them filled up with sawdust and ca glue 12:24

@@harpethguitar I understood you did that. But why fill them up and redrill them? That is what I was asking. I understood you filled them with superglue for prevent blowout. I'm just not understanding why do it again the holes that were there before looked fine. Was the bridge moven and reglued? That is what I don't understand.

The bridge plate was damaged and the string windings were resting on the saddle causing it to play out of tune. 0:47
