Shenmue 2 - Baihu’s Defeat (Remix)

nostalgic. This is my arrangement. Composed by Mitsuyoshi. In the latter half of the production of SHENMUE2, I was the only composer. I started using a cinematic method of arranging using the image song and main theme melody that SHENMUE1 didn't have. I think that by doing this, the video will remain in the player's memory more. I think it made me feel hot. When I was a student, I was greatly influenced by the movie "The Last Emperor," which won an Academy Award. I also studied that music, so the orchestration arrangement has a strong influence. Especially the powerful passing of the double bass and cello is influenced by the music of "Last Emperor". When the time comes, it is most effective to use the melody of the main theme of the work. Conversely, if you change it, your feelings will not settle.

This track just brings it all back, the excitement, the hope, the anticipation, the adrenaline while knowing what is around the corner however most importantly the nostalgia!! My Friend, this remake you produced is such a masterpiece, if Yu Suzuki himself hears this? He needs to hire you, and fast! Keep It Up!! P.S. I am not too sure if you would consider requests, if you do I would love it if you could do a remake of the music that is used for the scene that Ryo is on the boat to Guilin after he leaves Kowloon. The other one and while you already did this track about 4 to 5 years ago I would love to see a further 2023 rendition of the Lan Di's Departure Theme!

If Yu Suzuki ever had a job for me, I would absolutely jump at the chance. Those are two great requests. Well I’m currently in a team of 3 for the Dragon and Phoenix project so we each have our own covers to work on but I would like to take a further look at both songs at some point. Do you have the Christmas version of "莎花~江清日抱花歌~" played near the Tomato Convenience Store at Christmas? I've been looking for this song for many years

Did you mean Shenhua’s theme? I think Jingle Bells is played outside Tomato but a Christmas rendition of Shenhua’s theme you can hear playing near the arcade. I’ll definitely add both to the list though
