It really is a brilliant intro to the game. Dramatic, amazing music and mood. And yeah the Japanese voice over is probably how I'm going to play it when the remaster comes out.

I was blown away the first time I played this. I was the only one of my friends who had a DC, so when I got it, I was the only one who could talk about it, but almost nobody cared, haha!

The english dub became part of the whole "charm" of what made this a "cult classic". So some people really got sentimental over the english dub. Some of the voices actually are very good. Cuz of the genuine seriousness of the acting. But a lot of Ryo voice acting is emotionless. A true remake is still needed. New voice actors across the board. Remaking the soundtrack and remade controls and graphics. From the ground up it needs a remake. But the HD releases have been nice

Maybe I’m just crazy, but this is identical to the English version. Maybe the language barrier is blocking up your ears. Besides, it’s the side characters that are more meme-worthy.

If you have a p c you can burn the file and get japannese shenmue with English dubs. My mate done it for me and it's much better. I don't know how to do it but it can't be that difficult if my mate done it. I'm playing it now it's amazing.
