On a side note: The game could have ended in Kowloon with that epic moment, bu we were graced with the piece of art that was the epilogue in Guilin

The soundtrack after the fight is so epic. That moment where Lan Di appears is fantastic. To me, the manner in which Ryo dispatches Dou Niu is a clear message to Lan Di that he is not purely consumed by anger but is fully capable of confronting him.

Back when I first played this, I was too excited with the epic moment and didn't ask questions, but now I can't stop wondering why Lan Di didn't go down, single-handedly whoop everybody's asses and take Yuanda Zhu. After much thinking, I came to the conclusion that Lan Di now sees himself in Ryo, stopping at nothing to get revenge, and knew that if he went down to take Yuanda Zhu, would have no choice but to kill Ryo, and didn't want to do that, so he prefers to go directly to Guilin to search for the Phoenix mirror without kidnapping Yuanda Zhu, out of respect for Ryo. And not only that, maybe he wants Yuanda Zhu to explain to Ryo his motives for killing Iwao, which is exactly what Yuanda Zhu does following this. I think this is what makes more sense! What do you guys think?

Damn Ziming XD I had major trouble in this fight... I never knew you could just keep kicking him. This series needs to continue, I want to see a finish to this story and if Ryo actually avenges his father's death. That or at least finish the story in books because I really want something that tells the rest of this epic saga.

why the low kicking you fighting against a guy you hate and you can kick his ass. saver the moment block avoid and stand off at him and distroy the guy, make joy, ren, wong love you. when i was a kid i would toy with the last boss for hours i got really good. i act like i was lossing then kick his ass. Wish they stuck a toy capsil machine in the figth i collect toys and still kick his ass at the same time and play darts too plus chat up joy.

Actually, if Yu Suzuki gets the rights for Shenmue, which is still in SEGA's hands, then it will happen in the future because there isn't a way that any company will be able to refuse continuing these epic games. Sadly, SEGA is a shit company now and doesn't want to do anything original. Instead, they wanna keep rereleasing the same shit games for the same bullshit price. The Dreamcast was the greatest console ever, and it was way beyond its time.

What I love is that Lan Di literally had a bird’s eye view of the whole thing. He saw the whole fight from start to finish, and instead of lowering himself onto the roof to face Ryo himself and take Yuanda Zhu, he decided to leave. I believe that was respect for Ryo. From the moment he felled Ryo in one strike, to when he learned Ryo thwarted the Long Zha to seeing him take out the Yellowheads and their leader, I think Lan Di respected Ryo as an adversary even though Ryo is seeking revenge against him for his dead father who was killed by Lan Di.

Like i said, its more of a cultural martial arts that reside within his tradition. I guess his father fought battles through the arts and therefore Ryo grew into solving issues and ultimately taking revenge this way because it is how he sees taking true revenge in honor of his father. Any nut can shoot a gun. I think he's out for blood. Thats what makes this series so beautiful.
