Master Baihu is interesting character, he came out of left field towards the end of the game but he has something of a sympathetic quality. Wouldn't be surprised if he had featured as a major character later on perhaps assisting Ryo

Bloomin heck, for me the fight with this guy was an epic experience. It came right down to the wire, with both of us pulling out some awesome fighting moves and parries. I managed to just about beat him on the first go and I must have had my 'A' game on for those extremely difficult QTE's. You beat the crap out of him pretty easily I see.

I actually enjoy fighting with this boss, personally. It not only gives us to discover of how tiger swallow style could so, but the way I seomtime use the counter elbow assualt when Baihu is about to deliver a punch. It is similar to Virtua Fighter, but what makes the shenmeu games unique is how they show us the techniques of self defense and martial arts like in real life. And I know you might be thinking that it would be awesome to do it, but what I meant to say is the secret to achieve victory is to stay calm and/or avoid any gruesome battles

I always liked how each one of the fighters you fight use the style of a VF character: Rod Stunt was Jeffry, Greg Moore was Wolf, Chunyan was Sarah, and Baihu was Lau.

This was one of the easiest bosses if you ask me. You could defeat him by spamming the x/square button. The hardest fights was izumi fight jesus that bitch made me break my Xbox controller, but I managed to beat her after like 17 tries.

Stellar combat system. Not sure what they were thinking with Shenmue III. You don't follow up a proper fighting game engine with that bs. - You had throws, throw counters, block-counters, throw breaks, stun, stagger, wall-bounce, wall-splat, crossups, cross steps, full kumite ground game including rolls, quick stand, tech landings, grounded kicks, wakeup reversals... There were multi-phase throws including ground and pound after a knockdown. You could pick up a grounded opponent and set them up for a combo, or grab after a wallbounce. Can reverse tech a grab attempt right into your own grab, and can have it reversed right back on you right into a throw. The game was leagues and bounds above anything out there in depth, because it has one of the most technical fighters in its blood. So how dare Shenmue III follow up this masterpiece with that trash. It's insulting.

Best fight in shenmue 2 almost like the Chai of Shenmue 1 Chai and Master Baihu prepare Ryo to face off with Lan di and why are the associates of landi standing near master baihu. The way he asks Ryo his name in the end almost seems he will seek to fight Ryo again in the series perhaps in shenmue 3 which is still yet to be released.

Shenmue has a very original combat system. It has its charms, though imo it does not translate well into a modern game like shenmue 3. It looks notably stiff. That is to say, shenmue 3 has mediocre to even bad animations (which is not needed, not even to be 'like the previous 2 games'). I hope they take the time to rework some of em, because it really isn't acceptable. There are plenty indy games with better animation and lower budgets, or even B titles. On an unrelated note, everyone who says shenmue has one of the most 'realistic' fighting systems, don't lie to yourself. Even a superficial glance at the throws and the sequence in which they are performed say plenty about how unrealistic it is. Regardless, i hope shenmue 3 somehow lives up to the hype it has built up over these many years since shenmue 2. I hope the story turns out great and that the flat face of ryo doesn't end up handicapping it.

Never really understood the point of this fight. Baihu seems to just come out of nowhere and plays little to no point in the story itself other than giving joy a presence at the end (which is also unexplained). I hope he becomes a more important character in Shenmue 3 and maybe even a major character to really explain his purpose a little better.
