That fight at 5:48:20 was always a tough one. Pretty much the same thing happened to me, get almost slaughtered instantly and pull it back. I still consider (what would be Disc 4 of the DC version) to be one of the most important and greatest narrative storytelling mechanics ever used in any game to date.

Been waiting for this for ages. Shenmue is probably my favourite game of all time, but I never really got on with the sequel cos of the Japanese soundtrack. I still played it, but subtitles on what was then a small TV really ruined the immersion for me so Shenmue 2 isn't even on my radar when I think of great games, which is a real shame. Now I can watch it instead of reading it at last. When I think if Shenmue 2 now, from the Dreamcast late teen me, the only thing I truly remember is "Simo San" and some stupid game with a marble and pin board. Yet I can remember every scene from one. Real shame they didn't translate it for the DC. For me anyway, some people can cope with subtitles, I'm not one. Can't wait to watch this. In segments 😀

What did you play this on? It looks like it's using the Dreamcast's button layout but I didn't think there was an English version with such good quality for the Dreamcast.

I used the English speech mod by Sm1th, and played on Demul, the most accurate Dreamcast emulator in existence!
