Sega was a nothing company before Yu Suzuki turned them into the undisputed kings of the arcade. He made Hang On, Space Harrier, OutRun, Power Drift, AfterBurner, Virtua Racing, Virtua Cop 1 and 2, Ferrari F355, VF 1, 2, 3, and 4, OutRun 2 (which showed he can still make brilliant games). I think having the story without closure is the cardinal sin of Shenmue III, I'm sure a lot of backers backed it under the belief that a closure would be made, and being funded on a crowd platform is a gamble to revive a series on, given they may not back it a second time. Maybe there was a belief that their be a renaissance of the franchise and saw too much money potential in their eyes.
@Shuyin7813 жыл бұрын
After 20 years of waiting, it was delusional to think that a complete revival for 3 game and more was possible (Yu Suzuki is in his mid-60's). @@budgiecat2885 still, the story didn't progressed AT ALL in shenmue 3. You could cut shenmue 3 out of the game canon and it wouldn't make any difference. If you're trying to revive a serie, even if it's slow paced, you need to make the plot advance.
