I remember the original Shenmue even made my parents stop and stare at the TV, saying "Wow, games have become so impressive and realistic." ^_^ I'm an older man now, but this theme still makes me emotional.

I'm gonna come clean and admit that I've never played Shenmue but I do now how much of a beloved classic it is. When I saw the kickstarter announcement and when I saw how passionate fans were about it, I understood just how special this saga really is, so I backed it on Kickstarter. Now I have an excuse to go back and play the original games for the first time. Can't wait to see what's in store.

We want answers, and by this point, our first personal quest is minuscule in scope to it. This is what makes it more beautiful as a story too. Being consumed by revenge is the typical story we see in so many franchise, and series that is able to subvert that trope to bring something bigger is often richer.

I was 15 and I was at Epcot, in the Innoventions Pavilion in the year 2000. Sega had an enormous area dedicated in there, and were proudly showcasing some of their new games and also upcoming releases. On a Dreamast there in Walt Disney World is where I first experienced Shenmue, I'd never seen or heard anything like before. This theme has stuck with me for near 25 years...and never fails to get the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end, truly magical

I recall seeing the commercials for Shenmue before I got a Dreamcast. I didn't get a Dreamcast until it was heavily clearanced out at $49.99 at Shopko, here in the Midwest, sometime in late 2001, I think it was. Shenmue, D2, and Phantasy Star Online (with keyboard attachment) were the first games I got.

When I was in HS, a friend of mine had decided to sell his Dreamcast. I bought it and of the games he had, Shenmue I blew me away. The story, the music, everything. This series is second only to Final Fantasy VI for me. I managed to beat the game, but then my friend wanted the Dreamcast back. Bastard. Oh well. We've got the HD Remaster of I and II now!

I really, really want to see this trilogy finished. I don't care which platform it's on. If Shenmue 3 was made, I'd play it regardless of what it'd take. Sega HAS to let Yu make the third game. I honestly think that they're too afraid to make a 3rd game. If it's not perfect like 1 and 2, then the franchise is dead and the legacy dies with it. I've been waiting for a sequel ever since I finished the 2nd game, but I think it's too big of a project to take on. But one can dream though :)

they have to make a reboot or a shenmue with upgraded gaphics for part 1 and 2. Part 1 for shenmue onlywas translated in english for the dreamcast and part 2 was only released on the xbox in north america and europe. But I do want a shenmue three to wrap up the story.
