I live in New Zealand and have social anxiety frequently but for some reason, I went to China in uniwalk and having so many people around you takes away social anxiety because there are so many people that it makes you feel insignificant that no one cares about you. You are one of millions walking around there.

So much have change in Shenzhen in 40 years time, I still remember when my parents take me to Shenzhen in the late 80's to early 90's it that city was almost like Wild West, not to mention going thru the gate with the unfriendly guards at the time who all look bitter. Also Shenzhen at the time was full of criminals and scammers in the street. To this day, I wonder why my parents took me, a 9 year old kid in Shenzhen. Now Shenzhen look really safe and modern.
