The reason your beef and pork sales are good is because of the competition and the supply. The mistake made is thinking if you were the only one selling xxxx, your sales would be better. We're seeing here that without good supply the overall market does not grow. Each time a new producer comes in, the number of customers also increases. There is literally more demand at this time in history for what you do than I think we fathom. Keep it up.

Thanks for showing the marketing. One item you can add is those insulated freezer bags. You could even custom-print your logos on them to encourage pre-orders.

Here's an idea that may help you move the ducks. Print out a duck recipe for the consumers that shows how to prepare it. I would love to try duck, but I don't know how to cook it. Just an Idea.

Great vid, slowly starting with chickens saw ur chickens and duck vid processing but do y’all also process your beer/pork? If not where/who. Also on your poultry do you have a USDA approved stamp? If not how do u work around that question??? Waiting for next Vid!!!
@mariadracona2 жыл бұрын
You legally cannot sell beef or pork, lamb, etc. without a USDA approved label in most states. You may be able to process and sell chickens in a limited amount. Check your state laws to see whether it is allowed or not. You can get in a lot of trouble for it, fines up to 10,000 dollars or more along with an operation shutdown. You need to send it to a legal certified processor or open up your own legal USDA inspected operation. You can do mobile slaughter houses or you can build a facility for slaughtering animals. Hope this helps.

I don’t put my customers on the elevator like that, it cost me what it cost me, I set a price and stick to it. Our prices are the same as they were 21 years ago, because we gain efficiency and scale year after year. That’s why I hav t had to go to a market in 15 years, they come to me, and every new customer brings a few with them.

This video saddens me. Why? Because, folks in the states are making a living by producing food and they can sell even at the farmers market. Why not in Guam? Simply because we lack the Legislative laws to allow this process. We lack the options for meat processing. Vote wise. There is no excuse why food security should not be of highest priority during this election season.

Question ?? How do you have your butcher put weighted and Issa inspected labels for resale ?? I’m just asking so I can asked in my market ?? Love the content and all the info .. New subscriber !! Yep I’ll be watching you a lot now
@mariadracona2 жыл бұрын
If the facility is a USDA inspected butcher,(which depending on the state you live in is a requirement to sell directly to consumers) they will automatically do it for you because it is a requirement. That way, officials can identify that it was processed in a legal facility.

in my city, a family owner butcher of 60 yrs is now back ordered over a year on orders because there is 1 inspector for 2 states. The farmed meat for every small farm 2 states wide, meaning the cows get shipped out of state to be slaughtered have to wait for 1 person. The usda prefers you shop at Walmart and Costco where they have their own on site inspectors. The butcher told me at Walmart, the meat is refrigerated within hours of slaughter and is never air chilled. His meat hangs for 2 weeks before its butchered. The difference in production of our food has become commun istic

Hello sir. Love ur videos an info on everything. I really really watch you an a couple others after watching hundreds of other people videos. But one ☝️ of the other KZbin farms I really love to watch them but the one video he did he said there’s no no way you can make money from raising an selling animals now he is mostly about pigs 🐖. Actually I was going to help my kids start raising goats 🐐 an sheep 🐑. But after hours an hours of watching him an u an the other guy’s videos 🆎 pigs 🐖 I switched to piggy’s lol. But back to what I’m trying to get at is he said best y can do is break even !! But I don’t understand that to be true because you an other has also broke things down to we’re i can’t see a person making money 💴. PROFIT IM TALKING ABOUT. with raising pigs. But would like to get your honest feedback opinion on that please please ?? Thanks 🙏🏻 keep up 🆙 the great work videos please thanks 🙏🏻

@@noahsizemore1275 yep, you don't get rich (in money anyways) being a farmer. I reality most farmers break even at best. A real shame and a trend that cannot continue

Thanks for the videos y’all. I currently raise chickens for meat and eggs in Texas. Been thinking about getting a couple feeder pigs. My question is how many pounds of pig feed do y’all go through to raise one pig to harvest weight? Don’t know any pig farmers in my area to ask. I got the fencing covered, just trying to decide how much feed I need to get and store before the price jumps up again. Thanks
@richardbruton59802 жыл бұрын
800 to 900 lbs is a good starting point.
