I can't tell you how many people have yelled "oh my god you're so sunburnt!" and I reply thanks that's just my rosacea. Why do people feel the need to point out these things?! Use this rule of thumb: "Don’t comment on someone’s appearance unless they can fix that thing in 5 seconds or less"

Rosacea was the first sign that I had gastrointestinal issues but I did not know it at the time. I found this out when I had my gallbladder removed earlier this year. "Research shows people with rosacea have a higher prevalence of upper gastrointestinal, or GI, disorders, including esophagitis, GERD, SIBO, IBS, Crohn disease, Barrett esophagus, gastritis, nondiabetic gastroparesis, and diverticulitis." Want to share this info. as the dermatologist office NEVER mentioned a link to gastrointestinal issues.

How do you know what’s wrong with your gut health? Where should I start? I deal with severe facial flushing and I’m guessing it’s linked to my gut health but idk what to do about it :/

@@madilrasmussen333 Unfortunately, we have to do a LOT of research on our own. KZbin has many videos about rosacea and the link to gut health. Find Dr. Eric Berg' DCs YT channel, then search within his videos "rosacea". Watch and read everything you can find on CAUSES of rosacea, not just treating it. It sucks that we have to be our own advocate.

I hope rosacea would stop being described and diagnosed as a Northern European skin disorder. It took years to get mine diagnosed because of my tan olive skin tone. I also wish insurance companies would cover treatments because mine denies coverage due to this being a "cosmetic" prescription.

Been dealing with rosacea for two years now and started seeing improvements when I simplified my skincare and started seeing a dermatologist regularly. I was prescribed Azelaic acid at 15% twice a day and metronidazole cream twice a day and within 6 months my postules and most of my redness started to finally go away. After a full year I stopped having postules flairing up and had minimized my redness and irritation, as I learned that I had dietary triggers such as capsicum that caused many of my flair ups. I also avoid skincare products with propolis and fermented products and oddly enough a lot of centella products irritate my rosacea. I have combo skin so my rosacea are alongside my cheek areas only. I’ve been using tretinoin for wrinkle preventative care but I only apply on forehead and smile lines and T zone area while also avoiding my cheeks area and I will apply metronidazole on my cheeks area instead when I notice redness or irritation. Ingredients that have helped include glycerin, ceramides, matcha, green tea, and niacinimide. It’s definitely a journey but I promise if you’re suffering from rosacea and you improve your diet, stress management, understand your skins emotions like Dr Idriss explains and see a good dermatologist you’ll get it under control too ❤

Thank you for this video. I'm commenting with some of my triggers to potentially help anyone else with rosacea that finds this video in the future, because often the triggers are not obvious and differentiate from person to person. -Using a heavier moisturizer or using too many layers of skincare and sometimes "slugging" - Using too much niacinamide (niacinamide is already in pretty much every skincare product nowadays, so it is very easy to overdo it) -Chocolate T^T -Energy drinks -Any kind of chemical exfoliant (aha, bha, pha) no matter how "gentle" -Seasons changing -Any skincare with peppermint in the ingredients. ( Also, I'm also trying to figure out if burning peppermint essential oils might cause a flare up.) -Working out or doing physical activities - Using a gua sha might also cause redness for the rest of the day (not 100% sure on that one yet) Some things that I find help - Ingredients such as aloe, licorice root, green tea, centella, and using a tiny bit of rose hip seed oil - A cooling face ice pack ( but be careful because this might do the opposite in some people ((also never use ice directly on the skin)) -Using a cold can of soda or water from the fridge and rolling it along the face. - Tumeric sheet masks - Hydrating - Everything she said in this video This video was very helpful and everyone's comments were very helpful too! I am still trying to figure out all of my triggers, and I hope that this helps. ^•^

Claims - products that specifically say they help rosacea. I’ve been told that products that are “cooling” or targeted to redness are oftentimes not good for rosacea. So I’ve been using Biologique Recherche products for rosacea and they have completely changed my skin. Before that, everything upset my rosacea. I’ve also been told rosacea is an indicator of inflammation somewhere else in the body so finding the source is the best way to help control it. Treating the skin condition is just part of it.

I was diagnosed with rosacea 2021 and changed my doctor recently as no progress was made (but thousands of euros were spend). I feel so helpless, i am 35 and never experienced even "okay" skin. I react to a lot of different (healthy) foods, such as nightshades, especially tomatoes, gluten, dairy and changed my diet to a point where its not fun to eat anymore. I am now taking isotretinoin. My new doctor had good experiences with it. Hoping for the best.

I’m sure you’ve looked into histamine intolerance but if you haven’t, it may help. I started using histamine blockers and special probiotics last week and it’s made a world of difference. Like you, I’ve had to cut out nightshades, avocados, kefir/yogurt, tinned fish, leftovers, chocolate, plus so much more. Unknowingly, I’ve had rosacea all my life, types 1-4. The last few years, it’s like chemical burns all over my face and neck. Changed my diet, tried different supplements and topicals but nothing really helped. I’ve started the Seeking Health brand (not sure if it’s available in Europe) and it’s been a big change. Use four different supplements and my skin and body have began to calm down, as well as joint inflammation.

As Iong as I can remember, I have always suffered with rosacea on different levels and so I’ve always been mindful of my skin care. That said, I’ve always had to do my own research and never been able to have a certified dermatologist confirm if I’m on the right track or if I’m wasting my money on certain products or ingredients. It’s all be trial and error So I’m so happy to come across your videos with all this useful information. Thank you so much. ❤️

I’m super pale with the first type of rosacea that you talked about (emotions show instantly, bright red when I exercise, etc). My skin is fairly reactive to many ingredients, so I look for very basic formulas that are soothing/calming with maybe one active ingredient. The Aveeno Calm and Restore serum and moisturizer are my buddies, along with sunscreen and a very low percentage retinol. Less is more for my skin, but the one thing that has made the biggest difference is sunscreen! Wish I’d had a good sunscreen as a teen 😅 it would have helped so much! I’ve always flushed when I was younger, but now I’m in my 40s I have seen broken capillaries and some tiny pimples in my areas of rosacea. I have had a few laser sessions and they were amazing at removing the broken capillaries. Initially they also helped a little with the redness, but less so with subsequent treatments. I had never heard that not using retinol was a good idea (I’ll be removing that from my routine for a while). Azelaic acid gives me very obvious improvements and if I forget for a few days it’s very very noticeable. I have to be so careful and consistent with everything, and even then it’s still always something that’s there.

Suffering from rosacea since 10 years, I really undertand that the skin barrier has to be restored first. Than we can help with serums to control redness. For me fragrance doesn’t matter. Green color is a plus but not mandatory. I already have ivermectin so I will add azalaic acid to get a winning combo. Cannot wait to see in-office treatments!

Thank you for the hacks! I was bullied at school because my cheeks are always red and everyone thought I wore a makeup. Now I'm an adult and people think I'm sick because my cheeks are flushed. Went to a dermatologist and she said I defintely got rosachea. The Cicapair green tint really helps.

As a type 1, I have reduced the severity by addressing systemic inflammation and now, sorting out my microbiome. But in matters of skincare, I look for fragrance free, anti-inflammatory ingredients and anything with green tea. I also just started using Derma E Pure Biome Balancing Cream and Cleanser and it seems to be calming down the redness. The cream contains ingredients such as, Aloe, Glycerin, Centella Asiatica, Cucumber, Panthenol and more.

Yess! I don’t know if you have already made a video from the clinic about treatments but I’m definitely interested! Rosacea is such an annoying skin condition to have. Hyaluronic acid is the worst for my skin although it’s supposed to be suitable for sensitive skin. Can’t do acids. Retinol works if I sandwich it. I love fragrances as well but they don’t work for my skin at all either. I’ve been on antibiotics but it didn’t work that well. Before that I had a prescription azelaic acid crème but it didn’t really do the trick either but there was never any talk about combining the two. I’ll talk to my doctor about that.

K I don’t know know if I am just red or have rosacea but I look for calming, soothing, redness relief, and fragrance free products like you said. There are also certain ingredients I look for like centella, oats, ceramides, arnica, etc.

Aveeno’s Oat Cleanser is good. Clinique’s redness relief moisturizer is good. I recommend Purito’s sunscreens because if you’re REALLY sensitive like me it’s a great formula. There’s 2 of them right now.

I look for claims about calming and soothing skin, and recently I've been looking into products with a bit of a green tint. My derm told me I have keratosis pilaris on my cheeks rather than rosacea, but I still gravitate toward products that people with rocasea like because I have the same issue with facial redness and flushing. I'm aiming to eventually get laser treatment on my cheeks, but I'm trying to refine my skincare routine until then. I like the calming feeling of a lot of products geared toward facial redness anyway.

I don't look at claims for a long time now. I learned what ingredients are good for which skin condition, so i just look at ingredients. Centella for the win when it comes to redness. The Skin 1004 sunscreen is the best, whereas the overhyped beauty of joseon one makes me lobster red. Also thanks for bringing the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast balm to my attemtion, it is the single best product for my rosacea and my skin just drinks it in so fast, I'm so amazed by it. I'm looking forward to your vid about the red eyes, coz I have it and the only eyedrop that seems to help is actually a french one named Cationorm. It's an emulsion, it has glicerin in it, I don't really know how it works, but it doesn't sting like other eyedrops.

I've started using hydrocolloid bandages all over my cheeks, nose and chin. They are helping sooo much. It helped the little micro abrasions heal up, which is making it easier for the skin barrier to repair. I didn't realize until using them how many little cuts and abrasions were in my skin.

I rosacea journey started when I was 25, and I'm 46 now. I'm happy to see more education about it these days because when I was first dx the dr explained nothing and just wrote a script for metro cream (which didn't help). Today I am much for informed about my skincare. I look for products that claim to be calming, soothing, and for the most part fragrance free. I tend to have a flare up at least 1x when the weather changes to colder winter temps. I usually use Soolantra when it flares and it seems to work. I also have been using prescription Adapalene for several years with no problems. I would like to move up to Tretinoin but haven't yet. Would love to see more on in office treatments!

New Subscriber here. So, I'm a bit of a different case, lol. diagnosed with Rosacea over 25 yrs ago, I am someone who was very allergic to Minocycline. Hives everywhere, needed to go to ER for EPI pin. Prescription Tretinoin is the only thing that helped, lucky for me anti-aging wise because it wasn't really popular for that purpose then, at least not in Canada. Now in my 69, because of Tretinoin and sunscreen, I have pretty good skin for someone with Rosacea and my age. I did have aa problem a couple of years ago because I became allergic to Fragrance mix N-235. (tested positive) Now I have a really hard time findind good skincare I can use. I appreciate you addressing this concern, I want to add Vitamin C and antioxidants, but never know what to try. Thank You.
