I feel like Sheera is completely misunderstanding Sugar, the sister. She's not nagging just to be annoying. I know the show is largely from Carmy's POV, but you have to remember that Sugar also lost a brother. Just because she's not on screen doesn't mean you can assume she's doing fine. She lost one brother, now the other brother had to leave his wonderful successful job behind to take over a stressful, chaotic, failing, 300k-indebt family business all while near burning his apartment down and completely avoiding his grief and mental health. You gotta realize Sugar must be scared to death that Carmy will take his life like Michael. Everyone has their own way of handling grief, but doesn't mean they're all good ways. Carmy avoids, Sugar confronts. She might not be the best communicator, but at least her approach has a chance at actually healing and moving past the grief.

This is the second or third channel I’ve seen jump on Syd’s dad over that scene. If I remember correctly it’s more like hey it’s the middle of the night/early morning should be all quiet just confirming it’s my daughter and I shouldn’t be alarmed.. And yes Tina calls Carmy Jeff going back to her mishearing him when he first starts referring to everyone as chef. I love that little detail of the show and the kinda inside joke there. Kinda like how Ben calls Devi “David” on Never Have I Ever, a cute little thing between the two of them

3:19 We do it at the restaurant i work at. 1) Evening out the tape looks more professional. It's the same reason we cut chives to less than 1mm slices just as a garnish. 2) It highlights your culinary skills & time management skills. and 3) your accountability since each strip of tape is labeled, dated, and initialed ( so we know who f**cked up, what they f**cked up, and when).

@seezar1006 ай бұрын
Because that's what the scene made it look like in that instant. You've seen the whole show so you'd think differently. Also the scene literally doesn't make any sense. No one who's 6 hours deep sleep wakes up to a thud and immediately calls for a name. You might wake up yes, but you'll probably go back to sleep. You'll only call for a name when it happens more than once, which it didn't. That scene was simply very badly written, and they interpreted it the correct way,

Sugar is....complicated. You get a lot more in season 2 but there's a valid reason she acts the way she does The tape thing is useful bc the straight edges are more likely to stay put rather than warped/ripped ones. Also, attention to detail. It might seem stupid but if you put care into little things like tape, the mentality will transfer to how you view the restaurant or your dishes as a whole. It's a small way to level up

The tape thing comes down to discipline and presentation. In the kitchen or in life, if you slack off with the little things, then you will surely, eventually slack off with everything else. And when it comes to food, like Gordon Ramsey says, you can potentially kill someone if you don't cook the food properly and with the proper ingredients.
