Villains who are practically intelligent and have an air of respectability are by far the most dangerous. They can cause countries to collapse before anyone sees what they’re doing. Moriarty almost did that. If it weren’t for Holmes, his plan would surely have succeeded.

I know exactly what you mean. The instrument you can hear which produces that ghostly ethereal string like sound is known as a glass harp. They originated in Europe in the 1800’s and were very popular in Victorian era. I have been trying to find it as a stand alone piece for ages.

second best portrayal of Moriarty (first being, of course, Eric Porter from the Granada series)
@AndresGarcia-ul1wk4 ай бұрын
Mmm, I think the Moriarty from the Guy Ritchie's movies has a lot of charisma which the Eric Porter one missed. Yes, I accept the point that Porter's Moriarty is more faithful to the original canon, but this Moriarty is a different take on the character that stands out by himself. In the Granada series, Brett is amazing at showing Holmes in an alert and fearful state when meeting Moriarty, which in a way, that fear and alertness is spread to the viewer. The Guy Ritchie's Moriarty doesn't need a Holmes to be intimidating, you automatically feel that you must be cautious when the character appears.
