Love 8:30 - 9:11. That's my favorite piece of music through the entire movie. They used it in the slaughter house scene and the basement of parliament scene.

For the 2009 film Sherlock Holmes, "The Daily Variety" reported that Zimmer purchased an out-of-tune piano for 200 dollars and used it throughout the scoring process because of its "quirkiness".

Quite sad to see that the comments range back to 12 years ago. While I sit here with a bow and violin in hand, mind running endlessly about the detective duo that never once existed. I continuously listen to the soundscores, absolutely captivated by their melody.

This is the best soundtrack ever!! And Robert Downey Jr. was the PERFECT actor for this part, he outdid my highest expectations.

Watson was alright, and Holmes was cool as well, but I liked Mycroft in the books, he was probably my favorite right with Sherlock :) their little battles of wit and observational skills amuse me ^w^

The first part of this track is Holmes confronting Lord Coward. 2:56 is, "Well, that leaves very little time"--DART! It basically then continues throughout the climax.

@popitypop I think what was meant is that Moriarty is typically described as quite a bit older than Holmes. Brad Pitt looks younger than RDJ by quite a bit, whereas the Professor was always portrayed as his elder. Then again, they've royally screwed the canon in the new movie anyway(NOT saying it isn't still good), so who knows? It's possible.
@christopherxsax15 жыл бұрын
I think this composition is genious particularly because the Wichester Bell theme about 8 minutes in. He does so well to develop tension and variation with a 4 note, quarter note based theme.

Interesting that he also did the soundtrack for MW2. The last mission with the skipper boat sounded a bit like TDK which is where I grew my suspicions. Hans Zimmer is everywhere lately.

It's good if you really haven't paid much attention to the books or the older movies/series, I personally felt that it wasn't very 'Sherlock'-y in a way, and was a bit confusing in the begining, but the wrap up towards the ending was bloody brilliant. See it if you are curious, I did, and liked it, but I'll stick to my classic Holmes~

The boatman that Holmes gets Watson to hire really pisses him off, doesn't he? "I told you he would be comin' out of the top window, soldier boy, there's no way he'd be coming out of that terrace." "But that's not the top window, is it, "sailor boy"?" "Then what is it then?" "...Well, it's the middle window!" "ANYWAY!" Just reminded me, cos at 3:06- 4:11 he jumps out the window, meets the boatman and has that conversation (When this music comes in the movie). I loled.
