In my opinion one of the better of Doyle's tales and one of the very best production from the Granada series as well. Fans will notice the Abbey Grange is the same building used to portray manor house of Stoke-Moran from "The Speckled Band" episode - another of the supremely written of these adventures. It never fails to impress me as to the attention to detail and the quality of the Art Director's work in this wonderful series..

This is a tour de force of all actors, especially Brett and Hardwicke. I miss David Burke as Watson sometimes, but Hardwicke was luckily just as superb in the role. Although there have been many good versions of Holmes, Jeremy Brett is the ultimate one. Very good production for a TV series.

At about 6:30 you can see the deceased hands moving. I know that they have involuntary twitches, but it is still interesting!

Multi plex knife with a cork screw . Just humor but not in the show. The Swiss Army cares enough to provide a knife that can't just open a can and do many other thing's Including pulling a cork on a champion bottle 😁
