Love from an Indian diehard Sherlock fan! Enjoying the whole Ronald Howard series a lot! I used to play role of Sherlock in college drama fest. They used to cast me as Sherlock I resemble Holmes a lot by look! It was real fun time!
@erifretrats3784 жыл бұрын
I have watched all of these over and over again every night going to bed for over a year, maybe even two now, I have lost count, but no matter what else I watch always come back to these as I find they are almost all I like, more of a human Holmes, less the calculating machine with no feelings as played in most versions, with a realistic, likable humanist Watson, with comic lines in most, from Sargent Wilkins in the police as well, even Inspector Lestrade has his moments, yet he still can't see it as Holmes does. These are my favorite version of the great pairing, even though I like all versions, even the comic parodies, and the newest with Jude Law as Watson and Robert Downey JR as Holmes, which in a way are more like this version than they know. So thank you Pizzafix, this is my fix to get over my life's troubles every night. keep up the great work. Take care everyone, look after each other and the animals and the planet they all that we really have.

I love both series. This one is more Sherlock at the beginnings of his career, developing his forensics and using his already existing analytic skills. The Granada series with the late, great, beloved Jeremy Brett and his two wonderful Dr Watson’s, is more about the established consultant detective. Also has more of the quirks, costumes and adventures.

THe "dead man" only a deadly, gory killer...Of course such a character with a terrible soul leaving its bodily instrument, thus being able to do no more harm, would leave everybody else especially all the good people, to feel relieved. I'd be laughing and marionettes here is a symbolism or way of dealing with gore, like therapy....so the trauma and tension wouldn't get to the old gentleman judge and his good, elderly wife as well...what calls for more therapy or good feeling and way of relieving stress and focusing on good and detaching the mind from the negative or bad with such marionettes than this ere dangerous scuffle and drastically, otherwise mind numbing terrifying event. We'd be shocked, but here are the people (Sherlock, Watson, Lestrade, the judge and ) who deal with such things and criminals and death everyday, and know that it is only a breath of relief and the greater good and favour to society at the dying of such monsters. The soul is immortal and never really dies so to speak. If they're only using their human form to hurt or harm, corrupt and spread terror, what good is it? Their reactions are perfectly normal and a complete given, in that sense. Those marionettes are also like the children of the kind, elderly judge and his good wife. Laughing, joking and dealing with stress by way of marionettes is what they are doing and rightly deserved after all the ordeal. So would I as well, in fact.

@@chrisberry9017 yes i hate his portrayal or rather the writing of watson as a complete idiot he could never have made it as a Dr even back in the 1880's he has no common sense and asks the dumbest of questions. Now to me there is so little difference in how Rathbone and Ronald Howard played Holmes that i barely notice when its one or the other. but the Watson actor makes a huge difference. Now crawford's watson is at least believable as a doctor and as someone who could be a companion for Holmes. He at least notices things that Holmes doesn't and asks intelligent questions, where as Bruce was mostly just a dupe for holmes someone to dig holes etc almost like that friend no one really likes in a group of guys that you get to do the dangerous stuff so no one you care about gets hurt? that guy is nigel bruce's watson only dumber!
