When they run at the end, the building they're leaving is called "Rathbone Place" - a nod to actor Basil Rathbone, who played Sherlock Holmes in multiple movies.

Sister was both crazy Intelligent, and so broken that she had no concept that pain (even to herself) was a problem. Sherlock at one point says "Can't everyone do that?", Eurus (especially at 6?) has even less awareness of others. She loved Sherlock (laughing Story) and wanted to "Play" with him & Red, and made a puzzle that (adult) Sherlock could solve in minutes, and probably expected him to be able to.

I like the idea that neither sherlock or mycroft were quite so antisocial before being traumatised and responded in two similar but different ways.

Now you understand why I said you would need to suspend your disbelief for this episode. It hits the emotional beats, but the context is so incredibly over the top that it feels like Euros herself: high in the sky, not knowing how to land, and just bat shit crazy. However, the finale in no way ruins any other part of the series for me. I still love it, and will probably always love it, just as I love the original books. Thank you for your time, energy, and thoughts. It's been splendid 🤩

Both writers of the series have a deep knowledge of the works of Conan Doyle, and are lifelong fans of of Sherlock Holmes. - A blessedly un - Americanised series, and a landmark TV production. Quality will always triumph over quantity.

The final problem is actually the name of the story in which Moriarty and Sherlock fall down together from the waterfall and are both presumed dead.

For quite a while after, I took that title as a possible clue that like Sherlock in the original Final Problem, the series isn't/wasn't dead and that you would see Sherlock, John, and Euros would return... Especially as this episode reveals that Euros was the influence behind Moriarty before he even appears in the series. It seemed more of a set up story for Euros, and seemed likely to me that she'd -in those few minutes with Moriarty - set him obsessively on Sherlock AND convinced the blazing egotist to kill himself (for her ends). After she told Mycroft that he was responsible for her 'presents', I kept waiting to see some hint that he'd arranged some meeting between her and Magnesson. I sometimes wonder if there might have been another season planned but their combined successes offered too many other options to pick the series back up.

P.S. Because I've practically memorized this series, your "Sherlock" rection series will be how I watch it thus far. #StevenMoffat has said he'd like to come back and do them middle-aged, but without #UnaStubbs.... :)

Soon after season 2 the writers were bumped they killed of an amazing villian (and a fantastic actor) way to soon but they found ways to keep him 'alive' just cause 5 minutes of Andrew Scott per season is just enough for us to not overdose on him. We were already speculating on the secret 'brother' since 2014 so it was in the back of our heads, but they played it out nicely, I thought. I do blame uncle Rudy though, for how he took care of Euros and how wrong he instructed Mycroft to deal with the matter. Obviously uncle Rudy is the brother of (Mother Holmes), he's even smarter than her but lacks the social skills, like Euros and Mycroft. (all theories in my head ofcourse) Thank you boys for your honest reactions. I do like to end with two quotes from Gregg Lestrade. S1E1 Lestrade: "Sherlock Holmes is a great man, and I think one day, if we're very, very lucky, he might even be a good one." S4E3 Copper: "Is that Sherlock Holmes? He's a great man." Lestrade: "No, he's better than that. He's a good one."

The reveal Redbeard was Sherlock’s childhood friend 😵 I loved Eurus and her relationship with both brothers - man I wish we had more episodes with her, though. P.P.S. Benedict Cumberbatch is a natural ginger, like little Sherlock is depicted as being! 🧑‍🦰

I guess there’s something wrong with me, because I don’t dislike anything in the entire series. …Except when John “lost it” and beat Sherlock up in The Lying Detective, I don’t think John would actually do that. (But… I read a genius theory by one of the Sherlock fan fiction writers, which was: Maybe the reason John beat Sherlock up etc… was because “psychiatrist” Eurus had influenced John’s mind!! I agree with that, and so there’s nothing in the whole series that I don’t like!)🙏

ELEMENTARY is another sherlock show. Much longer. With an american woman Watson. Its very different, but good in its own way. Worth a watch.

Just my opinion, of course, but I think they did Lucy Liu dirty. She was such a side-character without much intelligence or agency. I'd have rather seen Liu as Sherlock. Now _that_ would have been interesting.

I didn’t like how much mother Holmes was blaming Mycroft. “You told us our daughter was dead” etc etc. Mycroft was like 13 years old when all that went down, I get that he made wrong choices but she was acting like it was all his fault.

I think of Sherlock like how I feel about great directors whose worst film can be over and beyond other directors best films. By that I mean it had flaws for sure. The characters were top-notch, and a few should have more to do (Mary, Moriarty), which they would have if the series wasn't so strange...3 episodes per season, years between. Hard to dig our teeth in with that pacing. But it was ambitious and did a bang up job, if uneven, and I respect that. I didn't really buy the sister, but I think that was a problem with, again, featuring someone in too few episodes to really build her up. Lastly, yeah, eff Mom and Dad Holmes.

this is the final proof at least one of the two guys has NO idea what the story was about. Terrible cuts, senseless laughter and no interest in the series. Was it soo hard to understand at the beginning Dr.Watson said "Close the window. Eastwind is coming!"`? "Eurus", the Holmes sister, means "God of Eastwind". "Eurus is coming" was the ultimative warning! And so it goes on... one is laughing the whole time, one is eating and nobody cares about the story. Their logic " I´ve seen an identical scene in this or that movie" sucks, same their eternal "smart" doubts in everything and ignoring every second conversation.
