I know alot of the k9 pd units use commands in different languages usually Czech In my experience depending on the trainer and country of origin so if the dog is in pursuit they wont be confused my commands from someone other then their handler

Honestly one of the big problems with these kind of dogs is people thinking because they have so much energy they need to constantly do something with the dog (mostly physical). This way the dog will not learn to calm down and therefore will always have a high energy level. Also many people underestimate the power of mental work (like doing tricks) this can tire out a dog tremendously in a calm way which then will also make the dog generally calmer.

Hey Joe, ( what a name for a song ) this is Dennis again. Seeing that girl work reminds me of my first Lab. We lived on a small lake when we first got him. And I could do the 2 stick throw in 2different directions, make him sit and wait till he was shaking so hard from anticipation that I felt bad. Point to the one that I wanted tell him ok and he was gone. Didn't matter if I threw it in the lilies and cat tails or in the open. He'd bring one back remember where the other was & bring the other. His " reward " was for me to throw frisbee for him out in the water,after retrieving the sticks. The greatest joy of all that work was watching him bring back the ducks and geese. One goose was so far away that you could hear the poor guy sucking water when he finally got close enough to shore. There is nothing in this world that is so COOL as to watch a good dog wanting to please. Makes it easy with a dog that's smart enough to only take a couple of times to know what you want out of them.
