I’ve loved Niecy Nash since her days on Reno 911! She is not only a comedic genius, but has also proved she’s got the acting chops to go full drama too. Truly versatile talent like Niecy are 1 in a billion. I love that she’s finally getting the recognition she deserves, as well. I want to see feature films with her as the lead. Second, the interview with Niecy Nash genuinely reflects your close friendship, and the respect and joy you have for each other's talents and life successes. Lastly, I want to commend Essence magazine for having the courage and progressive mindset to feature a black lesbian couple on their cover. With the history of homophobia, anti gay rhetoric and religious based discrimination in the black culture, this was a first step in the right direction to highlight the loving relationship between Niecy and Jessica. In the future, we will see if they are brave and bold enough to have a black male gay couple on the cover!
