I did this for the first time last weekend. It's easier to crack on cement because the surface is much harder. Trying to crack on your counter takes more time. I put my pebble in a zip lock bag and didn't use a towel. It's cracks quicker.

When I heard that you used flat glass marbles to make your own broken glass, and it was revolutionary. I don’t know, maybe a week and a half ago? Yep, got them, sat in the bottom step of the porch and broke some glass. In front of my neighbors and their kids. Pinging glass everywhere on my property. 😆 Because I forgot to listen to you when you said the heating, and the pan, and the ice and the water and the crackling..... and the right way to do it...... I am very grateful that I watched your video, Sherry! I have learned a lot! My neighbor is crafty, too. We would paint the whole neighborhood if we aren’t stopped soon! 😂

This is just to give an alternative. I had my patio table broken by a strong wind storm. The glass shattered and instead of throwing them out, I collected them and gave a good wash. I coloured some of them. That same week, my daughter said her table broke as well. And yes, I took them too. I now have an endless supply of glass, I think. over 50 pounds. So there's a tip. So either you have a broken one or know of someone, or decide to change your patio table..... up to you.

This Australian thanks you. We call those glass beads. I can’t hit a mirror and have a million years bad luck. With the last few weeks I have had I can’t. My puppy broke both bones in his front leg. To have it fixed and not removed it was a 3 day trip to the tiny dog hospital and he is worth $10,500.00 so far. He is worth any amount and who needs their house fixed? This week my daughters retina detached and I couldn’t get to her through two locked borders. I love her big sister for getting her help fast and the surgeons. I can’t wait to get my hammer and take out my anger on the glass beads. 🌷

Great idea Sherry! When you did the hammering per piece it made me think of the days I needed ice packs for pain. I'm unsure if this will work for you the same. I would put my ice toward the center, of a towel folded twice inward. Then outside on concrete and use the side of the hammer for more surface area and to let them break against one another. Let me know if this is the charm to save your arm! Lol sorry, I just had to! Monica

What about using a pillowcase, which has a less impact absorption than a face cloth (on a concrete surface). Also... safer! Another option, and I mention this bc I've been a stained glass artist for 20+ yrs and have mega amounts of colored glass shards, why not find a local glass artist and ask for their glass trash? Some different hues might be a welcomed addition

Sherry I think you need to hit on a harder solid surface, like a cement block or concrete patio etc. Also with the mirror you could try using a Glass Nipper. They are a little tool that most people that do mosaics use to cut pieces of tile or glass. If you used that tool you would have most of your job done with the mirror and then bash it with the hammer to get the final result. Good luck. Shirley from the UK. X

Hey Sherry! Great and very informative video! 2 questions: 1. Can you use crushed fire glass the same as the regular crushed glass? 2. Is the pan dry that you’re heating the beads up in?

Thank-You so much for showing this. I do have a question. I used acrylic pant I use for my pours to make a bling panting like your, it was an epic fail! 😳 my question is, do you need to use spray paint vs acrylic paint, and how to you get your glitter, or glass from turning into a blob??? Oh I used Mod podge for the stickem stuff. It sure didn’t turn out like yours! HELP 😳

Thanks so much and thank for watching 😍 I've used both acrylic paint and spray paint now I prefer to use the resin because I know it will stick. I make sure that I dont use to much of the resin or the mod podge. Be precise on where you place it.with the resin it does spred on it own. Hope this helped 😍😍😍🇨🇦
