I love the contrast of black and white design, but I would not paint a wall charcoal or black-- too big of a commitment. I lived with builder grade white textured walls for way too long. When I found SW 6002, Essential Gray, LRV 48, I loved it. It spawned a beautiful relationship between my furnishings and led me to find great curtains to complete the look. I should see if you've done a video on Essential Gray. It's in my family room and bedroom and upstairs hallway, all which get a lot of light.

Yup it’s grey. I’m glad some people like grey. I bet the algorithm likes grey. My favourite colours don’t include grey.

I just lived in a house with a tonal look of warm browns. From deep chocolate and tan leathers, orange leaning dark brown floors, beiges, white cabinetry, walnut table and other furniture, etc. I totally loved it over the past 6 years but I have spent a lot of time thinking my home needed more dimension. We’re about to move into our new build ( yay!) and I was so surprised/not surprised I gravitated towards greiges (Edgecomb Gray/Revere Pewter) and other colours leaning a little cool (Heather Gray) to mix with warmer whites like Swiss Coffee/Super White. I also threw greens in there (Forest Floor/October Mist) and cooler leaning whites like Pale Oak and White Dove. Mixed up with mid tone warm brown flooring I have a real mix of warm and cooler leaning (but not totally cool nor totally warm) colours. Sometimes we are so intent on “not going gray” because we really played gray out some years ago but I do love gray as a beautiful serene neutral and I think it adds so much dimension and can add dimension through paint. I am finding mixing up warmish and coolish colours so fun and interesting. I say “reconsider” grays! ❤️ Thanks for the great video and all the amazing videos, I have learned so much over the past year or so about colour, neutrals, palette building and discovering my own style as I’m planning this build 🙏

I need some advice, i currently have grey walks, with white trims, I have a lot of picture framing on walls which is also white. Almond shade wood flooring, grey sofa, grey tone kitchen counter top and cherry finish cabinets, this is an open kitchen and living space. I know there is too much going on and too many colors. Don’t want to spend too much on changing everything so i decided to paint the trims same grey as walls but shiny finish, now I am confused about the kitchen cabinets. Should I go with white or a lighter shade of grey to paint my kitchen cabinets? Any suggestions?

I don't like grey. I followed the reno projects of a contractor/ vlogger and many of his projects last year were grey-based (client selected the color theme). I grey tired of the sad grey tones. I prefer warmer beige & earth tones.
