Red route on an E-mtb makes it alot more interesting, hitting everything at around 20mph sure makes it alot more fun and around 33mph on the downhill route makes it a quick lap.bonus is you can shoot back up and try it again in a hurry

Having ridden Sherwood Pines as my nearest trail centre for years (over 20) your review is spot on. Tame and chilled but if you attack it really hard it has a fun element. If you diverted and did the "downhill" section you probably missed the best section of the trail. Tornado alley runs parallel to the downhill section and is fun but short. I use the place as a fitness check and a "I don't feel like a peak district navigation type ride today" ride. Really though when you have the Peak District up the road it is difficult to get excited with Sherwood Pines but for beginners it is great. The shop organise a great time trial competition too 👍 Did/are you doing any Peak District riding whilst on tour?
@MtbTrailHub5 жыл бұрын
jnadin39 Well said ..... Nothing more to add to that. The original plan was to ride in the Peak District but ended up swapping it for a day on the North York Moors..... A good excuse to go back !! 👌 Any routes you’d recommend for the peaks?

@@MtbTrailHub how long you got? There are tons of classic routes. Cut gate is great if the weather is dry. Any route including potato alley, the beast, lockerbrook/gore's descent and Whinstone Lee Tor around Ladybower. The Hope Valley including Jacobs ladder. Hello. I live in Derby. What is the best way to get there? Are there any bikes for renting? Is it possible to go only for one afternoon? How long is the trail in minutes? Thanks a lot!
@MtbTrailHub4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ren, Follow the sat nav to-Postcode: NG21 9JL. Yes you can hire bikes from Sherwood pines cycles (check out my podcast episode to hear more details from the shop owner.) Yeah one afternoon is fine although you could easily spend the day there as there is so much to do. The trail can be done in about 45 mins fast or a few hours at a leisurely pace. Hope that helps, Enjoy your ride!

They are located next to the marked "DH" trails. It's roughly half way around the red route. Pretty sure you could cut through fire roads to get there quicker. Best thing would be to ask in the shop for the quickest route.

@MtbTrailHub4 жыл бұрын
Yeah ; Trails are graded on difficulty and/or length. Starts with the easiest being Green, then Blue,Red and Black being the most difficult. As for the jump/dh section at sherwood they are graded on a dot system. 1 dot easy - 3 dots hard. Hope that helps👍
