I love her music, but surely she doesn't think we were apes before we spoke of sin.
@lancehaley941711 ай бұрын
You obviously don't know anything about Terrance McKenna and his stoned ape theory. That's what she was referencing. The evolutionary creation of humans was preceded by primates climbing down from trees and eating hallucinogenic mushrooms. Which was the catalyst for the expansion of their brains, eventually resulting in the creation of a prefrontal cortex over millions of years. The prefrontal cortex is what separates us from the rest of the animal kingdom. Sin is something created by humans. That was Terrance McKenna's point.

It's really hard to sing live and remember your words. I love her music, but she was supposed to say "It all comes down to creating time" in the first few lines and "The cosmo sits on the tip of a pin" near the last part. Great song though.

The music is nice, but the lyrics are poison. I thought after a bout with breast cancer she would think more deeply about life. Keep searching Sheryl....
@josephjoesephjosef7 жыл бұрын
I think you must be confused. Sheryl had breast cancer after she wrote this song. And if you read the lyrics they're actually extremely profound.
@sublimesamoyed7 жыл бұрын
I agree, Breezeplay1. It's beautiful sounding, and the apathetic tone of the lyrics call to those of us who are struggling with mental illness, but when you really listen to the lyrics, you realize that her apathetic tone is related to religion, or lack there of. No matter how deep I get into my bipolar depression, I will NOT accept the idea that my life has been of no consequence, and all for naught. No, I can't accept that notion.

@@sublimesamoyed When you create something as profound as this song, get back to me! 👍

You're tunnel visioned by a single line. The song is actually positive. It's telling you to live life, not to be a martyr and take rhings like spousal verbal abuse alone. Because the chances are, we will make it better.
