Good to see Sheryl and Doyle playing together again. I don't think they had played live together after their relationship ended and he left her band. Tryna figure out the success of Doyle Bramhall: he is a mediocre guitar player, a mediocre singer, a mediocre songwriter, but yet he has been able to be on the stage with those of extraordinarily talented musicians! How does that happen? Many really great musicians, performers, singers never get these golden opportunities so how does a doyle nobody get this far in the music business???

That’s a matter of opinion I love Doyle Bramhalls voice And he definetly is a talented guitarist otherwise he wouldn’t be playing with the musicians he’s involved with consistently. Just because you don’t see it don’t mean it doesn’t exist☺️
@jed1166 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, Eric Clapton put Doyle in his Tour band… as did Roger Waters….what do they know?
@stevewalters6853 Жыл бұрын
@@jed1166 He made 3 albums with Clapton, produced some for Sheryl. It’s my understanding after he got clean lots of people wanted to work with him. I’m with you those people wouldn’t have a mediocre player touring with them. Maybe it’s the left hand upside down strings only a handful of guitar players do that it does have a unique sound. Comments on his Comfortably Numb with Waters tour say it’s the best rendition ever.
@jed1166 Жыл бұрын
@@stevewalters6853 yep… didn’t see the Waters show, but did catch Doyle on the Clapton “Me and Mr. Johnson” Tour, (he played on the album as well). Doyle sounded great, and Clapton actually let him do the lion’s share of the lead work. EC seemed quite pleased to let Doyle steal the spotlight… The bottom line is that great musicians / performers just don’t invite mediocre players into their offices, because it’s bad for business.
