How in the world did Burt Bacharach never receive a Kenndy Center honer. The man was one of the most prolific, accomplished, successful, writters, arrangers, producers of modern music. He had his hand in the musical soundtrack of his and all future generations of people for all time. He will be studied and imitated by all future musicians, who will try to come close to his musical sophistication. Ridiculous!
Sheryl is for each singer a inspiration.......................

What do you get when you fall in love? A guy with a pin to burst your bubble That's what you get for all your trouble I'll never fall in love again I'll never fall in love again What do you get when you kiss a guy? You get enough germs to catch pneumonia After you do, he'll never phone ya I'll never fall in love again Don't you know that I'll never fall in love again Dont' tell me what's it all about 'Cause I've been there and I'm glad I'm out Out of those chains, those chains that bind you That is why I'm here to remind you What do you get when you fall in love? You only get a life of pain and sorrow So for at least until tomorrow I'll never fall in love again No, no, I'll never fall in love again I'm out of those chains, those chains that bind you That is why I'm here to remind you What do you get when you fall in love? You only get lies and pain and sorrow So for at least until tomorrow I'll never fall in love again Don't you know that I'll never fall in love again I'll never fall in love again

This song was written for the musical “Promises, Promises” when the producer asked David and Bacharach for a hummable tune to be sung just before intermission. David wrote the words first, which was unusual. Bacharach was actually in the hospital with pneumonia (as in the second verse.) The music is pretty simple by Bacharach’s standards, but charming and fun. It’s much easier on the guitar than most of his music. It does have the distinctive Bacharach Bb to C progression.

what do ya get when ya fall in love? well, ya get real vulnerable, that's what ya get -- ya get your back turned even when you're facing her looking dead at ya and telling ya one thing while doing the other right then and there: 'no, honey, that ain't no knife I'm sticking in and out your back -- this is just my pre-coital massage with my oiled up palms, so stop struggling to get away'

Lyles dress is normally impeccable, poor ugly fashion risk......probably had to fight off a few grateful fans, the disheveled look may indicate he wasn't entirely successful.. 'When I was in high school I was not popular, now it doesn't matter'. Understated yet biting insight on how it must've been for Lyle in a rural Texas high school.
