On her dancing in the video, she performed the dance with a 3d tracking set-up, then the information was sent to a 3d animator, to make a 3d model match the dance she did. So, it is animated, but it is also actually showing Kiara's dance prowess.

This MV was before Japan allowed travel again, so the mocap would have come from a home setup (possibly Ame's studio, if I am remembering the timing right) and likely needed a lot of fixing up. Regardless, Kiara does know the full choreo to this, so it might as well be her (if it isn't entirely her already).

@@saynay302 It was Ame's closet studio, from the stories I've heard. Apparently (I haven't dug around on the interwebs for any of the stories, so I can't give specifics), Ame's told some stories about humerous happenings. with taking the 3d recording info.

Fun little fact, Kirara was inspired by Japanese Idol groups and she eventually went to Japan and had actual idol training but was not chosen. And the choreography is real.

Kiara is originally from Austria and moved to Japan at a very young age to be a J-pop idol. While she never made it big back then, it gave her a background in singing and dancing that she takes advantage of in her Hololive career. She is also a professional cosplayer IRL. While not the most popular Hololive talent, Kiara has arguably the MOST devoted fanbase: KFP. I honestly didn't like her at first, but she has grown on me considerably, and I now consider her one of my Oshis.

6:20 It isn't a single Vtuber, but i would _heavily_ recommend checking out the 2024 Shuffle Medley. Its a set of a dozen Hololive Vtubers covering each other's original songs, with their models wearing the outfits of the artist who did the original. Do U was actually one of the songs covered. ...If you're willing to invest more time, reacting to the entire New Year's Countdown Concert it was part of is also incredible, and won't cause any trouble after Hololive itself had several of their Vtubers do so. But reacting to an hour and a half long video is definitely a departure from anything you've done before.

Let's ease her in to the Shuffle Medley. It only has the impact it has if you know the references. The Countdown, however, is a PERFECT introduction to the holo girls and she should 1000000% do it. DO IT BAGEL! You only need to do the Countdown side of things, so its only an hour.

And the other thing I see is that reactors get scared off by the live content that Holo puts out because the rules surrounding holo live content is a bit stricter (meaning if it's almost current they have to mute it), but there really needs to be more people reacting to live content. Like I've seen barely anyone reacting to the Marine 3D live that just came out or the Advent 3Ds. It would be printing views. lol. Content creators just miss so many big opportunities, haha.

Okay, so the feathers are supposed to be a part of her body rarher than earings... but on some of her later outfits they're not included. So its a bit confusing. The feathers are because she is a phoenix. There are actually a nunber of bird themed vtubers in Hololive, though they dont have a harpy yet. In addition to Kiara, there's Pavolia Reine, a peafowl, Nanashi Mumei, an owl, Takane Lui, a hawk, and Nerissa Ravencroft, a (demon) raven. I recommend checking out the song Holotori Dance, performed by Kiara, Reine, Mumei, Lui and Oozora Subaru, a Holomem who has become associated with ducks even though she is actually just human.

Kiara, also sometimes called Tenchou (meaning boss or manager in Japanese, because she owns and runs her restaurant chain KFP), is a member of hololive English's first generation, Myth. Though her English is close to native, her first language is Austrian dialect German, and is fluent in Japanese a well. About her style of music, she has started she wants her music to be very danceable (or as she puts it "twerkable"). Another song by her to listen to is Fever Night, which has a real 80's new wave feel, or Pineapple, which is just a fun summer bop

She is the most "Idol" of all the Hololive english first generation. She Is a phoenix and is a part of a group called Holotori that includes other Hololive Bird vtubers. You should check out the song they did called "Holotori Dance"

Kiara is an amazing person herself, such a kind and big-hearted soul. Check out the clip "You're a phoenix like me" where she encounters a cancer patient and tells them some soothing words to them feel better.. IRL she was a former rising idol in Japan but was targeted by a racist "anti" due to her foreign heritage as well as an obsessed stalker who went so far as to assault her in events. The "anti" eventually was successful in getting her fired from her talent agency by impersonating a CEO and making false complaints about her behaviour. Yeah, she really experienced the worst Japanese fandom had to offer. With her dreams of becoming an idol destroyed, being stuck in Japan during the pandemic, she applied to Hololive not really expecting anything to come out of it. She eventually became Hololive EN's Takanashi Kiara. Like a phoenix, she rose from her dream's ashes and eventually managed to became the idol she was always meant to become, though not in the way she originally intended.

Thanks for watching Kiara's song, glad you enjoyed it too As others have mentioned, Kiara is part of Hololive's EN branch 1st gen (though the EN branch doesn't really mention generations) Kiara is a Phoenix lore wise, those feathers though not always on every outfit(for reasons) are attached to her head and essentially would act like a phoenix down from final fantasy or other fantasy franchises(recovery item) if plucked from her head. Another bit of her lore stems from her being called a Part time Warrior which is why if you noticed those statues in the MV are holding a sword and shield. Part time warrior being a pun on the Japanese phrase that stems from part time workers, at fast food restaurants for example. So she's a part timer half the time and a warrior the other if that makes sense. This plays into the fact that she is called Tenchou(which means store manager) of her own fast food restaurant KFP or Kiara Fried Phoenix (where they totally don't serve chicken; this gag is due to her fans being chickens) The fans also are employees of the store KFP therefore the fanbase name is KFP. keeps things concise but maybe a little confusing. Again Lore wise Kiara has had multiple past lives in different universes (When she dies in one universe she burns up and moves on to the next universe. never being reborn in the same universe(except this one where she's been reborn at least 3 times). In each of these lives she pursued different jobs, for example shrine maiden to an Idol. She draws on these different experiences for her current activities (though lore wise she shouldn't remember those lives) [Her lore is messy lol]. She prides herself on Dancing for her own songs and though she doesn't create the choreographies herself, her past experience allows her to learn them quickly. my opinion She's one of the best Dancers in Hololive. Also almost forgot to mention, Kiara originally liked all of her hats. Even joked about wanting more and feeling naked without any hats on. But now she's very tsun to her chef hat as its not really confirmed to be a chef hat as it really resembles a turkey bootie/frill more than a hat. As for her music, she has made quite a few amazing songs and covers. Easiest way to listen to almost all her songs is to check out her Album, Point of View, it has 10 of her original songs. Also recommend Fire N Ice(a collab with Calliope Mori) and her most recent single Chimera. For her collab covers I'd recommend IIYA IIYA IIYA & Dreaming Chu Chu. From her single covers I would recommend Goodbye Declaration & my personal favorite cover song she's done 4Blood (Some believe she made the song her own with this). I recommend hololive member watame tsunomaki's song "what an amazing swing". The other japanese members songs aren't that popular in the English fans side so most people new to hololive don't know the other japanese members. This is a fun and visually pleasing song especially if you like jazz.

Kanauru did most (if not all) of the MV, cleaning up the mocap data, backgrounds, all that stuff. I think Kiara was one of the earlier ones to work with him for MVs, and now he does a lot all over hololive (and does his own fan stuff too). So something I recommend for you is to watch if you haven’t already is the Hololive shuffle medley, they came out for new years of 2023 and 2024. Both have a bunch of Hololive members swap their outfit to another members and then perform a bit of a song from the member who’s outfit they changed too. Some end up giving a different vibe based on how they are compared to the original singer but I think it’s a good way to take notice of a bunch of singers at once and from there I’m sure the comments would help direct you to the original songs to expand your selections from.

I would HIGHLY suggest listening to “Sparks” if you want to hear another solo Kiara song. Her voice just fits the upbeat song so well and is easily a favorite of mine. If you want to hear her in a colab though, I recommend “Fire & Ice” which she sings with her close friend and genmate Calliope Mori. The twos voices mesh together amazingly well. Admittedly I might be a bit bias on the last one due to bring a TakaMori fan.

The "chef's hat" is reminiscent of the type of manchette associated with chicken drumsticks... fiting for the owner of KFP (Kiara's Fried Phoenix). If you're interested in the full design, her illustrator "huke" (of "Black Rock Shooter" and "Steins;Gate" fame) produced a reference sheet for Kiara's design, including a phoenix form, which Kiara showed during her 1st anniversary stream ("【1 YEAR】ANNIVERSARY PARTY with SPECIAL GUESTS!" see comments for timestamps). Ok so there was a comment below that pointed you to the 2023 > 2024 New Years Countdown. I cannot request this more. It's long but it's 100% worth it; its a great intro to almost every hololive talent. I can't link to it, but it's extremely easy to find. If you react to it, watch from 0:00 - 50:38. Then after you know more holo vtubers, you can see the Shuffle Medley also included later. PLEASE GOD DO THIS. We emotional vampires need more people to react to live content lol. I know there might be permissions' issues with watching it online with sound, but you could do a muted watch-along where we just sync a copy (cause its free) and you wouldn't have to pause at all. Just some context for it. Holo does a free concert for New Years where they draw in (almost) all of their talents to sing songs. That means you have Japanese, Indonesian and English talents all on the same stage. 2023/24 is notable because whoever planned the groups for each individual song knocked it out of the park picking the songs and the members for each song. There's not one bad song on the song list and there's not one bad singer in each group. All of the groups are balanced extremely well. This is ALSO one of the first times they have given us a big live concert with multiple talents in their new 2.7 billion yen 3D studio. It's incredibly hype.

I'd also say it's 90% her but not in that way. It's that it wasn't top-of-the-line motion capture equipment, which is understandable. The motion data was not perfect. So there are parts of Kiara's performance where the tracking is off and Kanauru tries to fix it or he just has to cut away completely if it''s too hard to fix. IIRC Kiara talked about that herself. So she's usually debuffed unless she's using Cover's high-grade equipment/studios.
