**Minor KH 1& 2 spoilers ahead** The castle visible in the distance from Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden is called Villain's Vale. There's extremely little to no explanation as to what exactly the origin of Villain's Vale is, but that's the base of operations for Maleficent and Pete for most of KH2 after losing Hollow Bastion to the protagonists near the end of KH1. Villain's Vale is where Maleficent and Pete are shown to be looking out from or plotting things in a number of cutscenes throughout the game. The top room (the only room ever shown, iirc) of the Vale is behind the giant Heartless emblem. It's the same room that Pete was in during the scene where he opens the door to the Timeless River. I really hope that if you're able to revisit KH2 for this series or in your spare time, you check out that Room of Villain's Vale that we only see in cutscenes and hopefully share anything you find. I feel like the devs were originally planning more for that location and just scrapped it all at the end because there's a shocking lack of information for such a large landmark in that world :/ Either way, amazing video as always! ♥

The other castle in hollow bastion is actually Villain's Vale, The castle where Maleficent is when Pete goes to Timeless River. You can actually see allot of the model during those cutscenes and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a pixely texture of the Bastion from that cutscene as well. You probably even see it briefly in the cutscene.

12:44 it's 1 in the morning, and for some reason you woke up. That feeling in your blatter tells you the reason, so you get out of bed & head to bathroom. Halfway to the bathroom you hear a faint noise, but you can't pick apart what it is. You turn around, draining your blatter seeing the silhouette. And now, now you realise what that noise was, it was a voice, the voice of whatever beast stares you down in your own home. It slowly walks towards you making a faint noise of a hoof clop. Out of fear you turn around and run but as fate would have it, you trip, you trip and fall. The clops from the demon's hoofs get closer and louder, it kneels down beside you and wispers in your ear, "G̛̀̕e̕͘͠t҉̼̘͠ ̶̴̨u̴̕̕p̢̛͟ ̵̴̀҉͈̦͖o͏̨̀n͏̕͡ ̛̕͡t̡́̀h̡̳ͅe̶̵̴ ̧̧͞ḩ̷͠y͕͝͝d̛͜͠r̷҉̛̘̕a҉̧̠͠'͏̛҉̞̘͝s̷̨̨҉̭̹̮ ̸̵̨҉̺̝̰b͏̝͟ą̷͝c̵̨̖k̸͘͡."

20:00 Nice, you found the Pit Cell "secret". Was hoping you would. It's a bit odd how it's not in its own map, seeing how cutscene-only places in KH usually are. By the way, @Shesez, the Mickeys House map is generally thought to be from the "Mickey's Orphan's" cartoon, due to the winter and Christmas setting. Roxas' house in the virtual Twilight Town is also on the street between Station Heights and the Sandlot. It's hard to make it out ingame unless you have a good eye and can recognize some buildings.

Yeah no those Pixar project files are going to be terabytes and terabytes of 3D content in an in-house Pixar format that you wouldn't even be able to view without a workstation that costs thousands of dollars and is connected to Pixar's private network (another thing you won't ever have access to) so you can navigate the huge amount of content they have and you'd also need their in-house tools (again, you'll never get access to these). In the games industry we're very lucky to get white papers from Pixar detailing their research and developments, you're not going to get anything more than that out of them.

My favourite thing about this is everything. Also holy crap almost 360K subs??? I've been a subscriber since only about 5000.

Best yet, by far! Wonderful work! The catch with the star-box, skybox in Christmas Town had to be my favorite!

I don't care how long it took. You have no idea how happy I am that covered KH2. Just seeing more of a game that brought me so many memories...I don't even know what to say. Thank you. Really.

One of the weirder complaints I have with the Kingdom Hearts games thus far is how they handle facial animation. They ping-pong back and forth between static textures and actually animating a face. The textures always look so cheap and lifeless, either stick with that or stick with the fully-modeled face, please. It's a really weird thing to be annoyed by, I know, but it irks me every time they do that.

Aednat Teare-Mercure Yeah I noticed that too, but you gotta admit, the battle animations and effects are on point.

Jeremy Valdez Absolutely. KH2 is actually one of my favorite games of all time, hence why I notice and criticize odd aspects of it. I've got lots of experience and memories tied to it.

i actually liked the textured faces, the pingponging back and foth aspect i did'nt not like. both models were cool but the textured style in kh1 i perfered since i was really into disney cartoons back then

I think that’s more of a hardware limitation. Either that or animating all of the faces just takes too much time. They did actually improve ALOT since Kingdom Hearts 1. In the first game, it was mostly the “blah blah” face due to their limited budget and hardware limitations. In kh2, the animated faces were used much more often, even for minor characters. (Leon, Yuffie and Aerith never had animated faces in kh1). Then when Re:Com came around, they practically used the animated faces all of the time. With Birth By Sleep it was half and half which is surprising considering it was on the psp, but the main characters usually always had animated faces, unless it was during an unimportant cutscene or a faraway shot. DDD I noticed was also about half and half like BBS. KH 0.2 & 3 luckily has rid the world of those damn faces and will now be fully animated all the time, even in combat!! So excited for that (:

and even with Dream Drop Distance with it being on the 3ds they improved on it too. Plus no text box cutscenes, all voice over ones which is an improvement as well. I get I don't like those faces either, but we are getting there to where we won't have them... cause so far 3 is close to it.

Very nice attention to detail. Nice to see how they did that Sora/Roxas fade transition on the 6th day. Also, digging the added touch of the lo-fi audio on the old-time Mickey segments.

That window scene on day 6 blew my mind. I have no idea how many times I've watched that scene play out since I was 10 years old. But it's more than I could count, and I've never noticed it.
