It's so sad most of these people have died . Hugh Beaumont, Barbara Bilingsley, Ken Osmond and Tony Dow. I still love Leave it to Beaver.

I think most people will agree that Eddie Haskell was the "breakout" character from that show. Leave it to Beaver would have been such an innocent 50's show depicting the "ideal" family setting...then along comes this conniving, two-faced creep who you're supposed to hate, yet can't help but root for. Sure he was a "bad boy", yet deep down he was complex. He would mock and ridicule those around him, yet genuinely needed to be around those he called friends. He could push the envelope, yet knew where to draw the line. In many ways, he WAS on the side of the viewing audience.

I remember this show and watched it during its original run in the 80'S. But all this time, I thought Kelly Martin who was Beca on Life Goes On was Beaver's daughter on the show. Beaver doesn't have a daughter, I know. This was so long ago when I watched it, so excuse me I don't remember some things about it correctly. But I was so sure that was Kelly Martin. Turns out its not, but Wally's daughter is named Kelly. I do remember Eddie's son was really Ken Osmond's real life son. They should have made a show just about Eddie and his family. I was thinking about this today when I was watching some of the episodes. Around the time they rebooted Leave It To Beaver into this show, there was Married With Children with Al Bundy. I was thinking how Eddie Haskell would have fit in better with what was going on on television at this time--Married With Children, Roseanne, The Simpsons. The Haskell were more entertaining. I guess the show had a good run. I read it was on for 4 years. Not to bad.

It was sad before Hugh Beaumont even got on the first episode of the program his mother-in-law died trying to get to where he was and his wife at the time his son lost control of the car and the mother-in-law died and that broke my heart hearing that and I know it broke his as well along with his wife at the time and his son who I am sure felt guilty from that day forward losing control of the car!

Glad you like it and thanks for the response. Took fair amount of work and a little expense, and I'm not sure I prefer it since I didn't really notice full-screen stretching like some do (you seemed to), or the loss of some frame image as many do, but it's a slightly better video image and color quality, and the sound is a little better - no hollow sound. Thanks again for the positive feedback. Bottom line, I hope you're really enjoying the shows themselves.

@@shettrick I love them in their proper format and will be watching them all. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to make them right. I really appreciate it. Thing is, these 80s Beavers pale by comparison to the originals, but an effort was made to keep the characters true to form, so they are part of the Cleaver canon to me. Needless to say, LITB was/is one of my top 5 shows of all time. It bears repeating, thank you.

@@theancientlink7800 I don't think many would disagree the original was vastly superior (although actually I know some people who grew up with the new series who prefer it). But yes, it's nice to have so many of original cast back in character in these shows - my favorite by far in the new series is Osmond/Eddie and his son Eric/Freddie, and the writers doing their best to keep them as close to original characters as possible while playing them as adults in a vastly different era of the 1980s, and throwing in some very nice tributes to Ward and original series.

@@shettrick Interesting thoughts about folks who grew up with 80s version and prefer it. I've run into Star Trek Discovery fans who have no idea what the Roddenberry/Berman versions were like and prefer STD. The Hugh Beaumont references certainly were high points, and the funeral scene actually brought tears to my eyes. All of the Eddie episodes were great, but my favorite was the last one. It was so nice to see someone who was essentially a loser like the Beaver finally find lasting happiness in the end.

@Scott Hettrick Eddie and Freddie are my favorites too- and I love how as the show went on, Freddie really became his own character. I also love Gert, although she lacks the backbone she has in this episode at times. So funny that Eddie ended up marrying such a sweet wife.

Never knew this show was on. Pretty good. Eddie translates well into adult life. Actually as many know Ken was a cop who got shot on duty. Luckily 2 bullets hit his bullet proof vest and one his belt buckle. Unscathed, but the truma had him file for disability. Which he eventually got a full Police pension.

Wally has always been my favorite and leave it to Beaver and I like this music in the program not the beginning music because it sounds like something out of disco but the music in the program reminds me because it's almost reminiscent of beaver time!

I was going to ask if the actress playing Gertrude was married in real life to Ken, but it looks like he wasn't. I think Eddie meant well in life, but he was raised wrong by his own father as you can hear how wrong George Haskell was. Out of all the things Eddie may have done, he stayed faithful to Gert, raised Freddie, and then eventually let Edward come home as the show was coming to an end.

"Stiil the beaver" The closed captions said "hill the beaver" Hearing impaired people get the most misconstrued data in which to base and make decisions on, whether it is to vote or go to war and shed blood or spill blood. One word can change the whole meaning of a sentence, just as one letter can change the whole meaning of a word and some words have different meanings when they are spelled differently and some words have didferent meanings when they are spelled .

To many contradictory comments between every 1.They'll say something that implies they like what u did then turn around and say something hateful about it 2 the person that was being nice 2 them or ask 4 information or directions 2 this place and just when they're trying to affirm it then turn around and say another it's a nother place and u didn't really want to go. Then why did that person work hard 2 follow directions and make a appointed day and time 2 go to there. That 2 much contradicting U don't know whether the person is telling the true or r they acting like they r. They turn around and U find they hiding things from U. Tell the truth I don't like things like that it's not what we n society and n personal relationships should b using as an example 2 act like. We should b trying 2 tell and communicate exactly what we mean so there won't b confusions and get 2 the finish goal of good honest and humble comunications
