I chose male Shez and male Byleth for my first demo playthrough. The second that I did, I couldn't help but wonder if Sylvain would have special dialogue with female Shez instead. Sure enough, I watched someone else's run of the demo with female Shez, and Sylvain - as expected - flirts with the female mercenary. Never change, Sylvain xD

Well he is the guy that tried to flirt with Ingrid's grandmother when he was 8. Since we've seen Sylvain's father, Margrave Gautier, who will no doubt be playable like Rodrigue, I'm looking forward to the support conversations where both the Margrave and Ingrid chastise Sylvain for his antics.

It's pretty interesting how Ingrid mentions how Crestless children can actually inheritor the family title over those with Crests. So the Crests system is not absolute and there are exceptions within the Kingdom

It probably depends on the family. Sylvain's family can't do that since the heir needs to be able to use the crest weapon to fend off invasions. Probably a similar situation with Hilda's family to fend off Almyra. We don't see this problem in her family since both Hilda and Holst have crests. That and Holst is hyper competent and Hilda doesn't really want to be an heir. It's surprising that geography is a huge factor for this.

@@pketr5 Yup I agree Ingrid dose mention that using a hero relic is the main reason why Crests are so wanted and its the duty of the nobility to use the relics in protection of the people. So those nobility who share a border with a hostile power would put more weight on the relics and there for Crests.

Not just the Kingdom, the crest system is stated multiple times in the game to be dying out and would have gone away on its own within a few generations even without a war. Probably even less due to Hanneman's research

I always feel like Female Shez looks like someone's first deviantart OC with how bright the hair and red accents are, the bangs that cover only one eye, and the bun on one side of her hair, it's less noticeable with male Shez but it definitely made me question choosing her on my first route lol

One of the things we know is that the characters weapons are the new thing that the game is calling "Blades." Each Xenoblade since X has added a new thing called Blade, X had the organization, 2 had the species, and 3 has the weapons of the characters (which also appear to be existing alongside 2's species, which are returning in Xenoblade 3. So let's go confusing terminology!) Going by what we know of Xenoblade 3's Blades, the way Shez describes their sword is very similar to how they function. I finally tested it out, It does differ slightly. FemShez replaces "Ingrid" with Dimitri. Nothing huge, but it WAS taken into account.

Likewise, the support between Shez and Felix is shorter if sylvain and/or Ingrid are dead. Shez doesn't bring up the ones who are dead, and if both are dead, the convo skips to the dialog choice after Felix's "Dimitri" segment.

Im always locking early with a strong move and just end up eating shit so the damage taken requirement is making my life hell.

I know how dumb I must sound, maybe I just need to practice and get used to controls as well, but I much prefer the Three Houses gameplay. T^T

I'm playing on normal and some of those maps are absolutely brutal. Azure Gleam has one map where you need to rout bandits. The moment you step in, they send in archers that shoot you from every side. I don’t even have time to heal or dodge. This is the one map I find the hardest to S rank.
