I have an absolute ton of Figuarts and I’ve never broken any of them. I’d say I much prefer the plastic Bandai uses over the rubbery feel stuff that Hasbro has been using as well.

@@edwards.8453 yeah, I completely agree. Nobody should be put off by this video, I have the new BOBF Figuarts Boba in hand now, and he’s pretty spectacular. There’s no way that a black series of this outfit is going to do anything better when they release one.

The sculpted head is amazing, almost worth that high price tag. I give it a 4 out of 5 the mold and colors are better but I like the blaster and to a extent the jetpack more from the figurarts.

The cool thing with SHF are the accessories for more posing ways, but some figures lack the essence of the characters. I preordered, looks better than the last one at the moment, hope eventually Mafex gets the essence with their version. Thanks for the review 👌

The facial likeness is spot on. The problem is the details are very faint and speckly and not sharply defined. The helmet is still too narrow and the shoulder parts are also a lot uglier and rounded the SHF Boba from the Mandalorian. The recently announced Mafex Boba from the Mandalorian seems to have the best proportions. But the colours look too bright and the face likeness slightly off in official pictures.

Really surprised to know S.H.F broke on you. In my experience if it fells down then it may break, SHF uses the best quality plastic out there. Paint I would agree that it flat.

SH Figuarts is my favorite modern line. Certainly not intended for kid's play, but I still love to pull them off the shelf to pose them more than black series.The only break I've had so far is the poorly designed Mando holster. I have all the original and sequel trilogy figures and, overall, no duds for me (yet). This Boba Fett arrives on Friday. We shall see...

It's a very cool set, but downright unforgiving in some aspects. The inserts for the jetpack would be vacuum cleaner bait for sure. I do like quite a few in the SHF line, but I just don't have the wallet for it. Great video - thanks for sharing, LL! 👍

I've never gotten a figuarts to brake and this figure is great, the heads are spot on but the skin tone is on the lighter side, other than that everything is great, I prefer the book of boba fett look over the mando s2 look everyday

Hey Luke, do you think this figure is worth getting just for the throne? You didn’t talk about it much but I did like what I saw. However, it might just be more cost effective to buy a custom throne off Etsy instead, since I don’t own a 3-D printer yet.

Mine just showed up today. Can't say I have any complaints. The one thing with figuarts is that they're almost always over-engineered so you kind of have to assume that's the case before getting a figure.

Yeah. I bought the shf boba fett last year, but aas a little slow pre-ordering this one. On the whole I was happy with my figure, and giving seen the reviews so far of the throne version, I will probably skip this one and get a 3d printed throne. First time I'm glad to have saved money by missing a figure. Although the unhelmeted heads are improved I display mine with the helmet anyway. Wish he'd kept it on more in the book of boba fett.

I only have a couple of figuarts. I always thought they scaled a bit on the small side. They aren't fun to pose. So fragile and expensive. That being said, that farm boy Luke is the best out there.

I mean in S.H.Figuarts defense they have several other franchises under their belt aside from Star Wars so I feel like they must be getting stretched thin that's mostly just my guess considering they have like around 10 or so other series and franchise, more even. Their Star Wars stuff has def been hit or miss but I've messed with their Kamen Rider stuff and its insane how they manage to engineer most of these. I also kind of think a lot of them are overly engineered because they're Japanese import collectibles and most Japanese collectors from what I hear would just pose them and leave them be like statues. Either way this a very insightful review and I do agree I really hope we get a actual 6-inch Book of Boba Fett Boba look from Hasbro at some point

I'd love to know what everyone's favorite vader is, especially if they've messed with some of the figuarts and mafex ones on top of the black series ones. the only one I have is the most recent black series release which is the same as their empire strikes back vader (I believe).

I’m gonna reserve my rating til I get him later today. There are definitely shortcomings though. Brittle plastic, I snapped the rifle on the last SH Boba on day 1😢. The helmet still doesn’t look right, and as usual it looks fiddly as all heck. I love SHF but I wish they’d go back and give us more OT/PT stuff. Lately the offerings have been slightly better than mediocre. I hate the black series with the Fester head so this will be my post OT Boba going forward but it looks like they could have done better for sure

I love SHF stuff, but I passed on the BOBF version. The Black Series is much better. This is a really nice set- but seeing that horrible soft goods Skirt Makes me not want it. I also have many custom cloaks etc for my SHF figures but since I already have a resin casted 3rd party throne- I think I’ll probably pass on this. Thanks for Reviewing this set. Was curious about it.

I got hooked on figurearts because of Mando Luke skywalker, although I still like mafex.... but that luke got me hooked on figurearts...mafex terminator still makes it tough to decide. But Mando luke made me a fan of figurearts...trying to get those episode 4 figures.

if you have the ep 1 Obi-Wan, that is the best shf likeness by far and idk why they're so inconsistent with the face printing. im super hype for this figure tho. I really enjoy collecting shfiguarts and putting them into my black series displays. great review man!

Agree to disagree that BS is more fun to play with than SHF. There is so many options and great articulation with the line that BS cant begin to hold a candle to this line. Where did you get that kid Leia head and body?

Great looking set, although the Boba helmet does look far too small and do not like the way the Karma billows out far too much.I do like the look of the head sculpt but as you said the face print is not clear enough.I prefer the aesthetics of the Black Series figure myself, although not perfect i think the proportions are a lot more show accurate and appealing. Maybe further down the line Hasbro will give us a Boba throne but till then i am more than Happy with my Hot Toys version.Thank you for sharing.

That black series Boba is the ugliest piece of crap. I couldn't even get mine to hold his gun correctly, and that head sculpt is a cruel joke. My figurarts Boba from Ami-Ami came in with eyes on both heads painted. They look awesome. You must have gotten one from a batch that were unpainted.

I rarely PO SHFs anymore and I do have one on the way… but at least on camera I think the sculpt looks solid. I’d probably rate this a 3.5 to a 4 based on your video. And I do agree the helmet is on the smallish side. ✌️ Hopefully Mafex comes through?

thanks a lot for the review I love figuart a lot because it used to be the most articulated and best-executed figure ever, but lately it's not the case, engineering is amazing but also we are paying premium price so they could include a whole extra backplate for easy swap, it's just an example... weathering on a throne isn't that spectacular either and worst of them all is his faded face that look like it was printed on some ECO-MODE compared to promo pics his eyes looked normal black pupils and everything here it's all faded... and that I call a quality issue, quality control check if you see it isn't printing at it should stop the run and fix it... I passed on boba before, so I preordered this one... but I'm not as thrilled as when I've seen promo pictures...

I don't have many SHF at all, but from what i've got, my experience is that they look ridiculously good on the marketing pictures, but in hand you notice proportions and details that are off and then the excitement falls apart... and i'm kinda OCD with this stuff, once i notice something that bugs me i can't see anything else about it anymore. They are prone to over-engineering and making stuff too fiddly and too complex... to the point where i'm afraid to touch it. Add bad availability, low production runs and everything instantly being sold out.... Not a Fan in general. As far as Boba goes, i'm fine with the Black Series versions. No need for anything beyond that. But Mando i can't resist, i buy every (6 inch) Mando i can get my hands on... it's honestly becoming a problem. I have not even unboxed my Mafex Mando yet and already pre-ordered Mafex Mando 2.0 ...and despite hating the SHF Mando with a passion... if the SHF Mando 2.0 wasn't instantly sold out i probably could not have resisted it. I'm just happy i didn't collect yet when the Haslab Razor Crest happened... that would have KILLED me.

A ton of nagging but in japan, toys and figures are completely separate. These are figures. They aren’t made to play around with. They are meant to be posed. How did you play with these? Throw them? Black series are in the category of toys and the materials are made durable for that (cheap plastic I must add) with much less articulation and accessories. And for the face print, the black series one looks terrible. So I see no reason for the complain for the figuarts. Price? Black series in japan are insanely expensive. A regular figure here is like $60 and up. Never speak of import pricing if you want to compare a figure in fair way. The truth is, black series are cheap material with cheap reuse and no accessories but insane pricing for what you get. Figuarts uses great plastic, not to play, a lot of accessories and no cheap reuse unless it’s the same character in a different colour.

Rating 3 - you shouldn’t have to change the head and Kama to get the figure you like. 112 dollars not well spent IMHO. I like the throne and accessories but the figure is too fiddly like a lot of figuarts figures.

Great review. For the price i can't look past all the bad. I'm really disappointed in this one as i have been looking forward to it ever since i saw the promo pics but this looks nothing like that. I think I'll be selling mine when it comes in. just to make my money back

Hard to enjoy a review of a SHF from someone who clearly doesn't enjoy them as much as a BS and has a clear bias. Just hard to take any complaints seriously because of that fact.

Not going to lie. That looks like crap. His shoulders look crazy wide and the thrusters you can see the green plastic in the translucent orange so it’s super obvious if you don’t go back and look. I have had so many shf brake just by trying to move them. I stopped buying shf because I feel they are under par compared to TBS. Yes TBS doesn’t have a whole lot of extras but the figures I feel are better proportionally and what not. My rating for SHF Boba is 2.5/5
