5:15 To be historically accurate, the name "Stormtrooper" comes from the specialist shock troops used by the Germans in WWI. The name simply stuck in popular culture for German troops in general, even those in WWII, because their uniforms were similar. On the other hand, the troops who wore the skull and crossbones badge were the SS, elite fanatic troops who were responsible for the more grotesque actions during WWII.

That whole 'parsec' thing is such a retcon. Lucas just didn't realise that a parsec was a unit of distance when he wrote the script. Evidence of this... when I was a child, I read the novelisation by Alan Dean Foster, and the line from Solo was “Fast ship? You've never heard of the Millennium Falcon? It's the ship that made the Kessel Run in less in less than twelve standard time parts." No mention pf parsecs there, so obviously Foster or his editor was aware of the screw-up.
@mrgreatbigmoose4 жыл бұрын
I cite the smirk on Obi-Wan's face as proof that Lucas did realize it was a unit of distance. I always thought this was supposed to be a bluff, and that the smirk is Obi-Wan ready to call Han on it. That's why he follows up the line with, "She's fast enough." But you're 100% right, it's a reason in A Solo Story.

When obi wan and vader were fighting, the lightsaber props were made of glass to make them illuminate more when the effects were done. Because of this, the props themselves were not able to touch each other because they would break if they did. That's why in the fight, when the blades clash, there is a green spark in between. That is there to cover up the fact that the blades don't actually touch.
@atlasworldbuilder8246 Жыл бұрын
16:43 Fun fact! In the original script & novelization of Star Wars, apparently the use of “Parsec” in Han’s description was meant to imply that Han was lying about his ship - trying to talk it up and make it seem better than it actually was. Hence Luke’s later line of “WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK!” Of course, it’s later been retconned to be true, but it’s interesting to note that people didn’t make the immediate connection of Han’s attempt at misinformation, and instead just tried to understand how exactly it could work as he said. :P

Jedi is also a Hebrew word, it means Beloved By God, and since we are all beloved by God, I guess in a small way that makes us all Jedi Knights, May God bless you.

Fun fact: the stormtrooper who bonks his head is the same trooper that Obi Wan mind tricked earlier.

Actually, there is another given reason that confronts the fact that Chewbacca doesn't get a medal. It comes from "LEGO Star Wars in 100 Scenes: 6 movies... a lot of LEGO Bricks." I don't have the page number, but in the award scene, Luke and Han have some playful banter about this detail, I don't remember the quote, but Luke asked why Chewie didnt get a medal, and Han replies that " He would rather have a steak. Yeah, I would rather have a steak than a medal too.

You forgot to mention, that Luke called Leia by the actress' name, Carrie, when he was getting out of his X-wing xD

It's because that didnt happen. I dont understand the confusion, played at half or full speed he very clearly, to me, says "hey", it's obvious that it's a 1 syllable word he shouts. but 🤷♂️

I’m loving this!! There went my morning! 😂 I spent most of my time watching these. LOVE THEM! Didn’t Luke yell out “Carrie” when he landed his X-Wing in the original then they replaced it?

there was a comic where it was revealed that chewie did get a medal but didn’t want to receive it publicly because it was more honorable to the wookiee’s to receive it in private and it was seen as more humble

#19. The trash compactor door and the air lock door are not the same.

You can tell by LOOKING AT THE DOOR.

Yeah I think that was a slip up. The re-purposed doors are the airlock on Tantive IV and the door in Mos Eisley that R2 locks to hide him and 3P0 from the stormtroopers.
