No, take it to him, show it off to him, tell him it is really good but NOT for sale. That will then push Hoovie to demand to buy it by paying more than the Wizard paid for it. He will then get the Wizard to fix everything wrong with it and then eventually sell it back to the Wizard as payment for some other project at half the price he paid for it. Wizard then gets the car he wanted and got paid for fixing it.

Hey car wizard, I run my own performance shop and I specialize in Nissan trucks, I am very familiar with these rigs, Nissan used the same frame for all of the trucks and suv's (they call it the F-alpha platform) which means these things are like lego's everything interchanges. We take the motors from the Titans, armada's, qx56's (vk56de engine) and swap them into the Nissan xterra/frontiers/pathfinders which are 2000lbs lighter in weight. It makes for a really fun rig. Both cars use the same transmission just different bell housings, the exact same transfer case, There is no modifying anything everything just drops in and bolts up because Nissan used the same frame for everything.People also swap suspension parts between the two for longer travel and a wider stance. Currently I am building a supercharged vk56de for my personal xterra with a goal of 500hp. I would HIGHLY recommend an Uprev flash tune for that rig it will actually net you better fuel economy and better performance. It does a lot to help with the drive by wire system and removes factory restrictions like only 80% throttle comand is allowed in 1st gear from the factory. Uprev can remove that. It really improves the car and will cost about $700-800 for a custom tune file made for your truck. Also Trans-go makes a shift kit for that transmission that will really wake it up as well, Also I usually convert to Audi R8 coilpacks as well on all of them.

I have often dreamed of doing exactly what you do. Being in Nissan/ infinity enthusiast I always wanted to see if I could drop the VQ 56DEN to a G 37 chassis. Essentially making the infinity his version of an I SF so to speak. Also wondering if the VQ 50 might stuff in one as well. That VQ 50 that they put in the FX 50 was a beast of an engine and I don’t know why they did not you lies it more or make a performance addition of the Pathfinder or frontier. I’d love your website or information just to check out your projects man. Bmxguy08

@@aaryeshg.6526 because toyota, nissan and huyndai make quite the different spec for their cars there, they are nicknamed ''khaliji spec'' which includes alot of changes, some minor and some major, stuff like: different paint jobs, totally different engine cooling, different fuel pumps, etc. And that applies to all of the cars from the lowest speced corolla to the highest end lexus, from the cheapest elentra or accent to the most expensive genesis, etc. Even nissan still manufactures the y61 patrol in the u.a.e to this day. And for the people who don't know this it's not that that region get's outright better cars, it's that the climate is so hostile, their normal production cars literally won't work there, and that is evident in the used market prices to said cars.

Congrats on the buy. I have a 2010, and have luckily only run into some issues/quirks: Look for engine sludge - this is a common issue for high-mileage used vehicles, and will require replacing the valve covers since they have baffles built into them prior to the PCV valves, which will also be clogged. Parts are relatively inexpensive if you don't go to the dealer. From there, synthetic oil changes at 3,000 should keep issues away. Check radiator - end caps can/will eventually leak Want to the car to seem more modern? update the radio for $20 and the interior lighting for $15. Bluetooth transmitter for radio - Stock Bluetooth is only for phone calls, not music - this will fix it. To reduce electic noise, use the always-on outlet to the left of the analog clock on the center console. I set my transmitter to 107.7 here on the East coast, but you may have a better blank station out where you are. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V27CYPT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Interior LED bulb replacements - this made a huge difference - much brighter inside, and made it seem like a modern car www.amazon.com/Classy-Autos-Infiniti-Interior-Package/dp/B00I3PRCQY

On TSI engines before around 2012, VW cheaped out and chose poor quality timing chains which would stretch prematurely, apparently because the factory that made them used worn out dies. This was a big issue on the early 1.2TSI especially, because the tensioner was hydraulic and the oil pressure could drop when not used for a while, potentially causing the stretched chain to be not tensioned properly allowing it to jump.

the 2019 qx50 comes with a cvt that’s been known to be highly unreliable. However good car in general. I would go for a last year production model of qx70 which was 2017. They come with a powerful, reliable 3.7L v6 that has a good exhaust note and a bulletproof 7 speed transmission. It comes with a rear biased, AWD. The downsides are, it’s a bit small on the inside since it’s a coupe design and the mileage isn’t the best. Also it doesn’t have apple car play or android auto like the qx50.

This monster was sort of the first real sign that Infiniti/Nissan was in serious trouble, where they just started mailing it in. Those things were crazy expensive new, and the gas mileage made you wish you were driving something more economical, like say a Hummer, instead. Definitely better fix that gas gauge if you are towing with that thing. The range is going to be about 100 miles with a big boat hooked to it.

For the future buy this, not that video on crossovers this summer, Kelly Stumpe (The Car Mom) will lead this video with the Car Wizard at Omega Auto Clinic, during her visit on a business trip. It is only a six-hour drive from St. Louis, Missouri, where Kelly resides. She will plan to visit the state of Kansas, as well as the city of Wichita to talk about more vehicles for mothers with young children. She will also plan to visit Nebraska and Oklahoma, as well. When the Car Wizard bought his 2008 Infiniti QX56 two months ago, it would be a great choice for a large SUV, other than the Lincoln Navigator and the Cadillac Escalade to suit the mothers and the young children. But, these QX56's/Armada's are well known for the catalytic converters to fail miserably, because the Car Wizard explained about this before to not buy one of these vehicles. Otherwise, there will be more buy this, not that videos than the Car Wizard will do later in the year. Thanks.

My '06 Armada, owned since '07, has been super reliable. The only major issue I've had with is that I've got an ABS sensor going out, I think, which is confusing the ABS controller. Regarding your fuel sender issue, there was a recall on that back in '09, I believe, so it seems likely that could be the issue. Mine is also relegated to being used for hauling trailers, dogs and goats, for the most part. 150k mi and still going strong with only basic maintenance needed over the years.

As far as cars the Wizard doesn't recommend, I am still drawn to the 2017-19 Nissan Pathfinder because I need the occasional cargo capacity and towing needs that my Toyota Avalon Hybrid obviously doesn't. The seats are very comfortable, it rides nicely, the SL trim is in a sweet spot price-wise (although I like the heated/cooled seats in the Platinum trim), and they come at bargain prices. I came close to pulling the trigger on a Nissan Certified pre-owned 2017 Pathfinder. So why didn't I? Three dreaded letters: C-V-T. I am still very leery of the Nissan CVT transmission given its reputation, especially for towing. I figured that buying one with the manufacturer's certified pre-owned coverage would be valuable insurance, but the little voice inside of me keeps telling me I'd be better off with a 2014 Highlander with over 100K than a much newer Pathfinder with 30K but that CVT. (I see Nissan just unveiled the 2022 Pathfinder, and the good news/bad news is that they are finally replacing the CVT with a traditional automatic transmission... but the bad news is, it's the notorious ZF 9-speed.)

Five points: 1) you're missing the front skid plate that actually goes from the front bumper lip to the engine. It has to be removed to get at the oil filter, so somebody probably forgot to put it back on. 2) the oil cooler leak is so incredibly easy to fix. Next time you change your oil, after you pull the oil filter it takes a socket to remove the central nut off the same shaft the oil filter screws onto. No need to disconnect any coolant lines, the pancake cooler pulls straight off. The seal is the EXACT same size as the OEM oil filter o-ring, so in a pinch you can simply remove one from a cheap oil filter and it'll cost less than the OEM seal and work just the same. That seal gets a lot of heat from the engine and hardens as it ages. It's probably good practice to go ahead and replace it every few years. I did mine in 2018, after owning and driving it for almost six years it started to seep a little. 3) the air ride suspension is important for towing heavy trailers, also there is a trailer brake control unit for this, should be included, most people leave them in the glovebox and never install them. After 8 years of owning my Armada the air ride suspension has been perfectly trouble free. 4) I think there might have been a recall on the early year fuel sending units. 5) the only two flaws I've had is a broken vent on the passenger side of the dash, and an occasional annoying false signal on the sonar parking sensors. In other words, no big deal. Keep up on all the fluid changes and scheduled maintenance and it is a very reliable platform. Other than needing a new starter, my brother has had the same experience with his 2008 Armada.

Shameless promotion for the dealership. Probably paid dealers wholesale buy price just to clear this from their lot.

i had the 2006 and the Manifolds broke on both sides ! Then I bought the Pathfinder and the Trans had a loose bolt in the trans!! NO MORE NISSANS EVER FOR ME! The last good year was the 91!

I dont know man, my infiniti m35 I've had for several years and she is still running great. Over the past 3 years I've probably only spent $1000+- on standard maintenance issues, and she's just at about 100k miles. My other infiniti m56s has 60k miles and is just running perfect. However, that damn oil cooler gasket will absolutely go bad on every nissan product there is. Ya sure are right about that. Not saying they are toyotas or anything lol
