@@FrancoKTA Why she does what she does. I couldn't know though. I just meant she's clearly backing away from Shia's perspective in this interview. Her sarcasm is telling. He knows what acting is. Unless you've seen others who've been through what he has, they don't. Many people are great without reflecting on what they're doing. Many others reflect and can never be great again. A select few understand what they're doing, why they do it and do it exceptionally. He's actually getting there. She's lost. Charlie's Angels? Really?!
@FrancoKTA5 жыл бұрын
youtoober2013 You should watch her Hot ones interview (the hot wings show) she just did. I think you will get a better understanding of why she acts the way she does. It start the same as this one you know she is kinda on the defensive. But you see her open up as she can tell from Sean’s questions he is asking genuine questions and I actually curious about who she is as a person. I mean remember how much shit she got when those twilight movies first came out. And even after they were done she constantly asked about her relationship (which was super messy if I remember right) and about the twilight movies. If you ever seen her talk about those movie you can tell she doesn’t give a fuck about them. So I think she just grew to hate interviews and is alway instantly defensive at the beginning of them. Like she thinks your going to take jabs at her so she throws them first. TLDR: Watch her hot one interview. I think it will change your outlook on her and help you understand why she kinda defensive in interviews. It did for me at least.
@youtoober20135 жыл бұрын
@@FrancoKTA I was disappointed in this interview _because_ I watched the Hot Ones interview when it came out. This one obviously happened first. That's why she mentioned Shia off-hand. Thing is Sean is amazing at what he does, but he knows well that his job is to make his guests as comfortable as possible, so they can open up to his personal questions under the heat stress. The whole premise of the show is genius. Taking interviewers out of a show is also smart. That's why I usually enjoy actor on actor interviews... and especially comedians. It's not about the people it's about the art. She acted like this was an interview about her... it wasn't supposed to be, the whole purpose of these interviews is to be more vulnerable and open with the chemistry between the like minded. Shia was really diving in -and immediately like she noted, to the point of the interview. It may seem like she doesn't want to reveal some side to herself or something, but in reality it's because she doesn't even know that side of her herself. That's why she does movies that no one hears about and then a movie like Charlie's Angels... let alone start in a movie like Twilight. The drama involved with that position should have been obvious. She's clearly always felt uncomfortable in regular interviews, which is the reason why she shouldn't have felt weird in this one, but she made it weird. This is coming from an "agent told me to do it" perspective and I think that if she was confident in the reasons she wanted to act like many certain strong females that she has in underrated films, then she would be able to talk about it. _Especially_ with another actor _ESPECIALLY_ with a guy like Shia... -no, there is no guy like Shia... she wasted a great opportunity to figure out why she uses art as a conduit for love. The way she talked about her family... sad. Reminds me of that kid from Pewdiepie's latest Dr. Phil episode that doesn't talk to his mom because she doesn't do anything to make him "relevant". It's a sorry case of being lost in life, only in Kristen's case here, she actually has talent and a seemingly really cool personality, but it's all the chips you hold on your shoulder that ultimately weigh anyone and their craft down. Shia on the other hand is constantly shedding even every skin. Charlie's Angels? Seriously?!

As to get an insight into your thinking, which they don't get if you say nothing out of your own initiative. Apparently they are interested in you and you make it out to be something negative. Geez... Also, people who are not quiet by character are often only quiet when they feel left out or not at ease. It is not so strange that they project this onto other people as well. Shia has a gift for listening, with his Aquarius Ascendant, Mercury/Venus in Cancer, Jupiter in Pisces, this is an individual with incredible patience with people, and true desire to want to understand them. I doubt he understood everything she says but he's probably not a very judgmental person, he's trying his best that's for sure. He knows how to put people at ease, and when he speaks of LOVE he means it. Aquarius/Cancers (and Libra/Pisces to a degree) are the signs of therapists. I am suspecting that Kirsten may be on the autism spectrum. She said several things that point in that direction. For instance having such a hard time getting herself started in the morning. Many autistic women are gay or bi. Autism goes along with a lot of anxiety. Acting isn't an obvious choice of career for an autist, though...
@Canadian974675 жыл бұрын
@DAVE ADAM (1) It's not a fictitious condition. (2) I am not imagining anything particular about her personal life. I'm just noticing that a number of things that she revealed about herself match the diagnostic criteria for autism in grown women. (3) It's not about being horrible to her. She is obviously plagued by a high level of anxiety. This sort of thing can be debilitating. It's actually really sad that a lot of women don't get a diagnosis and struggle when they could, instead, get the proper help and support. Autism is an invisible disability, which unfortunately goes hand in hand with a high rate of suicide. The growing awareness of it is a good thing, both in terms providing more adequate help to those affected, but also in terms of showing the proper understanding and care to someone who doesn't function like most people do. (4) Kristen doesn't provide enough info to know for sure if she has high-functioning autism, but it's a possibility.
@Canadian974675 жыл бұрын
@DAVE ADAM There are several straw men in what you just wrote, and I won't take the time to correct them all. You sound like a fan and I am sure that you know a lot more about Kristen than I do. Autism isn't a fictitious condition. You are the one who is uninformed if you think that Jenny McCarthy is an authority on the matter. Within the autism spectrum, there is a variety of IQs. Many geniuses are actually on the autism spectrum, and many historical figures are suspected to have been autists. If you are right when you say the following, it actually supports my suspicion instead of undermining it: "She is in fact high functioning genius, incredibly intelligent, incredibly well-read, highly introspective, and also somewhat shy." That's what a high-functioning female autist looks like. They are otherwise known as nerds.

@janmetdekorteachternaam36734 жыл бұрын
@@thebrazilianatlantis165 You can get by without meds as well. Meds might be a temporary solution in cases where someone is already too deep into their own beliefs their feelings of anxiety (or depression) are so special that it can not be overcome like the rest of the population do/did, who also experienced depression, anxiety etc. And some to a more extreme level than yours, that is one certainty you always have: someone else had it worse and also managed their way our. The long term solution is to work on your self image and decide you want to be better. And that is very, very, very much easier said then done, but it is the only way out. Cognitive (behavioral) therapy can help with this, but in the end it is the decision you make yourself. Keeping yourself numb on medication, so you will not have to deal with your demons is not the answer. And almost every doctor outside the US will tell you so and only prescribe medication as part of the treatment and not as the solution to the problem. Good luck on your journey of becoming a self reliant human being.
@janmetdekorteachternaam36734 жыл бұрын
@@thebrazilianatlantis165 I'm not sure why you deleted your comment. Even if you disagree with someone, why is it so hard to explain why? You said: - "decide you want to be better" _Wow_. Mental illness gets much worse than you think it does. "You can get by without meds as well." No, I literally can't. - If you have other mental conditions in addition to 'anxiety' you might need meds, I was talking specifically about anxiety, because that was what your first comment was about as well. Noone needs meds for 'anxiety', that is an American invention that has spread to some other countries. You don't get meds for this where I am from. And not because of a lack of resources or something. There has been a pretty extensive discussion about the use medication for anxiety and the research does not indicate this is a good long term solution. Maybe in some very extreme cases the SSRI's for short term use (few months up to approx. a year) to make the therapy a bit easier to effectively start, but definitely not longer than a year and definitely no Benzodiazepines or TCA's. And it is not needed, it makes it easier (or less difficult I should say). Anxiety is best dealt with behavioral therapy, hence the 'decide you want to be better'. Which is obviously a simplification, as behavioral therapy approaches the issue in a more elaborate way. You so easily say ' I hope she can get the right meds for this' , but when someone says that I also read ' I hope she can get the right life-ruining addiction for this' and that is why I argue against this 'meds are the answer' view. It is the lazy way and it does not solve the problem. I am sorry if you feel insulted in any way, I do not mean any of this to be. I am also very sorry if you are brainwashed into believing you are going to be dependent on meds for the rest of your life. That is a crime. Good luck.

I’ve loved Shia since he was a child actor and him saying he feels like he isn’t good enough around people who went to school to become actors just breaks my heart. He is so good at what he does. From serious films to transformers.
@simbadraven59155 жыл бұрын
I agree. I relate to Shia as a person, from my perspective. I love him. He feels real to me and he struggles deeply in a personal way , just like i do. He thinks and feels deeply, and when you're surrounded by insincerity and shallowness it is super super depression and anger inducing. I feel he is burdened by these things, and i love him for that because it makes him someone i can relate to and know im not the only model of my brand of human. Life is extremely Hell riddled when you have a full reservoir boiling underneath your skin and there is very little outlet, often NO Outlet at all aside from creative writing, to release little star systems worth of your inner galaxy. A firestorm that needs to burn if it is to survive, and everyone who encounters it attempts to lock it in the freezer. This continually reoccurring directly produces extreme anger, resentment and depression. Jesus, if i could give you this feeling, you would understand the burden. P.s.: Once i started typing this i kind of blacked out and just started expressing myself and i actually forgot i was simply replying to someone, sorry if it was long winded. But everything i said was honest so ill just keep it the way it is. Peace and Love to you. We share Love for Shia, i think that that is significant.

I’m so obsessed with this. I come back to it all the time because I feel the way Kristen speaks is how I speak - there’s so much I want to say and sometimes it comes out too fast and not as clearly put as it feels in my head. And Shia is such a force of intellectual prowess while also being warm and inviting and he just makes me want to think more about everything at all times. Shia is so underrated and beautiful and Kristen is rarely this outspoken so this interview is so special.

She usually say 3-4 sentences that were just not needed. Its not that you have so much to say. Its more problem that you are not able to find the right words and you keep talking instead of working on the thought you want to express. Just take your time. Its better to be silent and speak slow than what she was doing there. This interview could have 10min and you would get same information value from it if she would be able to express her thought clearly.

I feel genuine warmth from Shia in this interview. He is able to be still, solid-- like a patient anchor for Kristen. She rewards that with truth-- raw, explosive thought and realizations. From watching this video, I feel that it would be a worthwhile experience to simply sit in/on comfortable furniture in Shia's company. I suspect he could hold eye contact, smile, with no speech needed and the environment feel comforting. I suspect Kristen able to share/instill so much enthusiasm/passion that she feels a responsibility to contain herself, for the safety of others. :D

I've watched this interview so many times... Someone said that it's like watching depression and anxiety have a conversation and i think that's hilarious and true.. AND there's such empathy present. Such kind curiosity, such vulnerability, such emotional and social intelligence. I'm thinking lately that everyone could benefit from having acting be a part of our lives. I don't think we should idolize actors but i do think we should admire and observe them as mirrors. Love both of them much more than i did before the first watch. Damn Shia saying how deeply dissatisfied with life is SO REAL.. and i get it. I think we all can.. WE spend so much of our daily life 'acting' and life is easy in those circumstances because they don't demand complexity. they separate us from the rest of our lives... Anyways, great interview.

It’s not supposed to be an interview and that’s the problem. It’s supposed to be a conversation. This is basically him blasting her with question after question because he’s afraid to talk about himself, or lacks the ability to.
@miamay76884 жыл бұрын
Um, I disagree like Kirsten stated so many times during this interview, this is not the appropriate setting to be vulnerable! 1- they barely know each other 2- this is taped on camera for millions to watch Kirsten is aware of her feelings and who she is, and she's smart enough not to share them with whoever, that's called boundaries! Which Shia doesn't have a concept for, because he can't even feel! So this is just an opportunity for him to capture someone else's capacity to feel and expose it the world! The guy needs help reading his own self!
@kylehuxted50254 жыл бұрын
@@miamay7688 Not true at all. Shia is completely capable of reading himself. He genuinely cares about what Kristen has to say and he wants to learn her as a person. Who she TRULY is. He is a very intelligent individual and he cares for people in a very deep way. Thats why his questions are so thought provoking, and in this video, you can see him focusing on her and really trying to learn and understand her. Which he showed multiple times. One of the issues here is that Kristen is extremely anxious and just keeps talking and talking. There really isn't many times where she stops and really tries to know Shia. She obviously asks, "What about you?" But her questions are nearly as deep or come across quite as sincere as Shia's do. One example of Shia not having an issue talking about himself is when he expresses that he requires acting as a conduit to love. And he finds it difficult to enjoy things outside of acting. That was an extremely in depth and honest answer that he gave. Not something many people would share through such a public setting like this. All in all, I just personally disagree with your comment. He understands boundaries, he is just more capable about being fully open with himself than she is.
@eyesintheroad4 жыл бұрын
BadMannerKorea I agree up to a certain point. There’s a moment where he’s asked a question and answers shortly and moves on to his previous question to her to which she replies “this guy”, when he notices what he’s doing, gives a more thorough answer. I feel like he was just very interested in learning about her and maybe trying not to take over the whole thing too much? I mean, from what I’ve seen from him, he loves to talk and be listened, so maybe he was trying to be polite and humble. I never see this as conversations rather like a two-way interview with a specific and personal goal in mind. You don’t get to learn a lot about the movies or even the person, just their relation to their craft.
@miamay76884 жыл бұрын
@@eyesintheroad What about 3:29 "Jesus Christ!"! @@sethleifheit11 It reminds me of the long nights talking with friends in my college/university days. Not everybody is interested in philosophizing about the world, the human psyche and deeper meaning behind things, but I think most of us go through a phase like that. It just kind of ends when you get your adult life together and get into all the practicalities of everyday life as working parent etc. Maybe it is just a coincidence, but apart from these people being pretty young still, they are also probably not in a 'normal' structured life like most of us. A bit like in the uni days. They also don't seem to have their shit together, just like most in the uni days. So I kinda feel that if you go looking for more people who like to talk like this about subjects like this, you might end up with a pretty unstable bunch of people (or a bunch of college kids). But maybe that is what you are looking for. It is not really a positive for me tbh. When adult life happens, the practical stuff is more important than all that 'meaning of life' stuff and when you get kids that answer is answered anyway (and you won't have much time to really think about it all).
