Absolutely love this. The Tridentine Mass, Traditional Latin Mass, Extraordinary Form. Is incredible and such a great Liturgy to our Lord. I feel it is harder for individuals to make any part of it about themselves. Every prayer, movement and body language of the priest is all about God and the holy sacrifice. Please allow it to be said universally again. Such a sad state when the "Extra" is not allowed.

This may be bold, the things you like about “traditional mass” is fully what Divine Liturgy is

It’s a personal preference. St John Chrysostom’s mass is one of many within the catholic church. I’ve been to many types of masses, Ambrosian, the liturgy you mentioned in ancient greek, ancient church slavonic, slovak, I’ve been to the traditional latin mass. The church is a mosaic, and all the ancient rites have their inherent beauty. Me personally I resonate most with the silence and introspection of the tlm. Of course l I’ll attend another rite every now and again to appreciate it. But if I had to choose one to stick to it’s the TLM. Also I recently learned that the churches merged twice, at the council of florence and another one I can’t remember now. But for political reasons it was not upheld twice. Let’s not push for division where the division is political and not doctrinal/ theological.

@@stefanknezovic1747mass is prayer and should lead to contemplative prayer as St John of the Cross and St Teresa of Avila wrote of. The NO is loud, the guitars and utter lack of reverence makes the entire experience counterproductive and orients people towards a self focused liturgy measured by entertainment value. I attend NO 95% of the time, because we have no other viable options. But to say TLM and NO are the same, is simply not true.

@@TheGringoSalado I think NO can be just as good as TLM. It really depends on the priest and the amount of reverence he puts into it. I've been to NO my whole childhood, Greek Orthodox masses for 25 years, and recently I've attended both the NO and TLM with the same priest and both were wonderful.

@@m_d1905can for sure be, but rarely is. The changes are quite the deviation from tradition and the consequences (not entirely related to V2) are obvious.

@@TheGringoSalado I agree. I've been to TLM as well and enjoy it. The current priest at my childhood church, while young (to me he's in his early 30s), he's very traditional. It's nice to see.
