Yes but at individual level. As a group or nation there are stages of development. A nation is either rising or falling and have traits like sense of freedom and justice. As a Pakistani I think Afghani's have tremendous fighting spirit who have fended off world empires throughout history. I understand where shaykh is coming from, but I’m disappointed that he failed to mention that people in those regions are heavily impacted by foreign policy right here in America. The reason those places are so corrupt and unstable is due to the hegemonic influence of countries like USA over their society. Too many hypocrites within Muslim countries are willing to sell out their people for money or personal benefit that may be offered to them by others. Other places in the world, including Pakistan, have rule of law. BUT many of these countries are always being tampered/ meddled with by bigger super powers like Amerikkka, so of course the rule of law in those places will be broken. It’s not as simple as shaykh made it sound. May Allah guide us all ameen.

I agree with you, especially as someone who has been an activist in trying to reprimand pro-war foreign policy. When someone asks me if a Muslim is saved, I first want to point out God’s love towards them, and all of us. He still loves them with all His heart and that’s why he sent Jesus. Satan (speaking through Peter) denied the crucifixion could be allowed. (Matthew 16:23, Mark 8.33) - Allah denies Jesus's deity, his death & his resurrection. Satan deceives the nations. (1 Kings 22, Revelation 16, 20) - Allah is the best deceiver. Satan masquerades as an an Angel of light. (2 Corinthians 11:14) - Allah is the light. Satan prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8) - Allah says "wage war on non-muslims & kill them until they submit & the only religion is Islam". Satan is the accuser of the brethren. (Revelation 12.10) - Allah accuses Jews & Christians of corrupting the Bible. Satan is the father of lies (John 8.44) - Allah is the greatest of deceivers and encourages lying. Satan has the power of death. (Hebrews 2) - Allah has the power of death. The whole world is under the control of Satan. (1 John 5:19) - Allah is the oppressor & abuser, Allah has power over all things. Satan was the most glorious creature God ever made. (Ezekiel 28:12) - Allah was the most glorious creature. Satan is a fallen angel still capable of impersonating an angel. (Job 1:6, 38:7, 2 Corinthians 11.14) - Angel Jibril always spoke in the name of Allah. Angels are mighty. (1 Kings 19:35, Isaiah 37:36) - Allah is mighty. Satan was called a morning star. (Isaiah 14:12) - Allah was called a morning star, the Lord of Sirius, the mighty star of pagan Arabs and as a brightly shining star. Satan was the model of perfection. (Ezekiel 28:12) - Allah is perfect. Satan is full of wisdom. (Ezekiel 28:12) - Allah is the wise. Satan was perfect in beauty. (Ezekiel 28:12) - Allah is sublime, and the most beautiful names belong to Allah.

I get you but let’s not forget that when IK was elected the leader of Pakistan his foremost duty it to the people of Pakistan. Not the people of another country. Had that not been the case he could have got involved with the innocent citizens of Occupied Kashmir especially when their rights were taken away by Indian PM. Muslims there are still getting persecuted, kidnapped, raped, beaten up and murdered by the armed forces of the fascist Occupation. There would undoubtedly come a time in the future when IK or another virtuous leader of Pakistan could exert pressure on China over the Uighurs. That time would come when Pakistan has more leverage. @@deedeee6271 Islam is a religion of wisdom, it requires from us to take decisions according to our situations at time, Do you remember when treaty of Hudaibiya was signing, a young Muslim in chains appeared in the Muslim camp and cried for help and his release. The person Sohail, who was writing the treaty, was father of man appeared known as Abu Jandal. He demanded that "You have to return him to me.” The holy Prophet agreed and consoled Abu Jandal, “We have just concluded a treaty with Quraish in the name of Allah and we honor it. Be patient and resign yourself to the will of Allah. He will provide you relief.” Allah knows best, I lived in china for almost three years, with full hijab and abaya, never faced any discrimination, we used to go to mosque during Friday prayers and Eid prayers, there are a no of Muslims we interacted with. Obviously we heard from them that Chinese govt is very strict for some practices of native Muslims. Things were quite better for Muslim communities in big cities like Xi'an, we heard that Uyghur Muslims are facing persecutions due to their independence movement because they believe they are not part of China. I am not saying that they are wrong in their demand, I am just telling you what I saw and learned during my 3 years of stay in china. Let me also tell you that our Chinese christian friends also told us about persecutions they were facing from Chinese govt. And it was much severe as Christianity is the fastest growing religion in china so Chinese govt consider them a bigger threat.

I am a long time student of Hamza Yusuf and really respect him as one of my teachers. He is a great soul and great teacher and scholer. Period. However, I have lived in Pakistan for the last 10 years and let me tell you first hand. IK has been a complete and utter failure. We all thought the same about him when he fist came but unfortunately and it really pains me to say this that IK has been nothing different from all other snake oil sellers populating the Pakistani politics for the last 50+ years. For 70 years Pak was destroyed. Many wanted IK to fix everything within few years. If people open their eyes and mind you will see some fact and figures that despite all kinds of problems, things were starting to improve during his short time, while also handing covid situations.

Sheikh! Whats so different between the American dream and Pakistani Green Card dream..... Well Pakustani Green Card dream is better.... Ppl who get it are above average and they get it to pursue what they are capable of. So it was really disappointing to see your reaction and scoffing off at mentining of Pakistani dream.
