I'm still holding out until some extensive long term reviews come out. The 43x is my main carry, so 100% reliability is my biggest concern. The S15 is a game changer though. Edit. I've made the switch to S15 mags and their mag release. No issues in over a year of carry.

Friend of mine has the Glock 48 he uses stock mags and a stock mag release he carries the S15 as a backup magazine he's done this for 2 years with no issues. When we go to the range he does a mag dump with both stock and S15 mags they run flawlessly.

The Glock 19x was amazing. Then they dropped the 43x & 48. They might have dropped the 3 best carry 9mms on the market right there lol. The 42 was also great if you want a .380. It's one of the best .380s I've ever fired.

I ran them through an off duty qualification last week in my G48 and in my ghetto G43x (43 slide on 48 frame) and they were flawless. They have been 100% reliable for me and I highly recommend them. Another plus is shield arms shows love to us law enforcement/military folks. Great review sootch00!

Seriously isn't a 43x slide on a 48 frame a 43x ? My son has a 43 that I have been carrying I bought a 43x for the full grip before S15 mags. Since the 43 and 43x slides are the same I am kicking myself in the ass for not buy a 48 instead of 43X cuz I could of put 43 slide on 48 frame and essentially had all 3 for 2

Bought 2 of these magazines and the Shield Arms aluminum mag catch/release in March, 2020. Ordered on-line on Tuesday, Shield Arms shipped them 2 days later on Thursday, delivered on Saturday. 4 days from order to deliver. Couldn’t be happier. Mag catch/release spring was a little tricky to get out but a long, thin, straight edge screwdriver took care of it. Once out, the installation of the Shield Arms mag catch/release and spring took less than 1 minute. Thanks Shield Arms.

Best video on this set up yet. Lots of good comparative data points. The warranty of the springs is really cool. I have never heard of anyone doing that before. I also thought it was really interesting that the S15 mags weight the same as the factory GLOCK 10 rounders. Good work and thank you!

I carry a G48 with the Shield S15 Mag and mag release plus one spare S15 as a backup on my belt. I couldn't be happier with the mags, the mag release from Shield and the new and improved G48. I also love the G48's new and improved ejection pattern. It fires those brass cases out like a champ! And unlike all the Glocks of old. Thanks to Glock for improving that aspect of their new guns.

@@jakelake4312 Hi Jake, couple of things, first still no malfunctions. I even, at one point, got 3 or 4 of the Gen 2's to carry. So from my experience, no issues whatsoever. But having said that, I recently went back to the stock setup for the G48 and am carrying the 10 round factory mags. That has much less to do with the mags and the stories from some people, and more to do with the whole notion that if I ever have to use it in a shooting, there are less questions raised if it's a stock gun with factory setup. So I just carry a second 10 rounder as backup instead of the one extra Shield 15 rounder. Same amount of rounds on hand.

It's great that these are working so well for most of you. I had a different experience: I have issues with them in 2 different pistols (Gen 2 and using the gen 2 Shield Arms mag release). My issues are that the last round hold open often doesn't work & they randomly drop down (mag catch disengages) so they don't feed. Just sent them back to Shield Arms and they said they "are within specs and work in our pistols". Seems that most have no issues, but about 20% do have problems-many that can't be resolved. I now have 4 of them and 2 mag releases that they won't take back, even though 2 are new and in the original plastic. Sure wish they would work for me but sadly, they don't.

I got these months ago. Love them and if you buy the edc kit they offer with three mags two extensions it comes with the mag release too. They took a long time to get and I preordered but it says a lot about their company that the first shipment was refused by them because the finish on the mags wasn’t correct. They care about qc. I’ll be a shield customer for a long time when I need something they sell.

The reason I passed on thes 48 and 43x was because of capacity. If these mags hold up over time I may have a to look into getting both. Also the idea that a 43x or 48 would have the same capacity as my Cz P09 is definitely something I am very interested in.

Got my mags recently...running them in relatively new glocks...be advised, the 100 Grain Critical defense 9mm rounds may not chamber right out of these mags, as the feed lips on the Shield mags are shorter than the Glock mags, and the Critical Defense rounds, as described, are a very short standing round....your results may vary

I have the older stainless 43X model. I got the Shield Gen 2 mags and never got a chance to shoot. I inserted and dropped my mag several times because of excitement. Well, my polymer mags would no longer catch. Had no choice but to change the mag catch to the shield aluminum catch before ever firing a round through it. Very happy with the Shield mags!

When we had Glock range days at our local range, I asked the Glock reps why they had not come out with higher capacity mags for the 43x and 48.....their answer was .."because we wanted to make sure they actually worked"....maybe the issue with the magazine catch wearing out was something they encountered as well?

I prefer the G19 as it also accepts Glock's 24 and 33 round magazines and has an accessory mount for lights/lasers, though if the G19 grip is too large for you the G43x/G28 makes sense (but needs a metal mag release to prevent wear with these metal magazines). Don't like the P365 due to design/QC issues.

Shield Arms advised different spec tolerance between older 1st generation silver slide 43x and and newer black slide 43x. A stronger mag spring needed for older silver style slide glock 43x to prevent malfunctions. They have good customer service and are sending me two stronger springs. I had numerous malfunctions even with the new metal mag release installed.

No issues with having the loaded mag putting pressure on the slide? Had similar issues with the MagPul 12rnd Mags for my G26. The 12th round put a lot of pressure on the slide & I wouldn't get that round in the barrel when I first fire it. Stopped using those mags immediately. Hoping this doesn't have the same issue.

Emailed the company April 16 2020 in regards to if they would be applying their technology to the Glock 43 to squeeze more rounds in it. Just got a response today "Sure are! In the works now." So to all with the 43, be on the lookout for higher capacity in the 43 which would be amazing for such a small pistol!

I’ll wait until people have put a few thousand rounds through them. While Glock probably could have engineered theses to hold > 10, I think Glock has historically favored reliability and durability over some other factors. Glock mags are probably the most durable of all the major companies.

I have a G48 and love it even more with the S15 mags!!! Not a single problem with the 3 mags I bought!!!!!! Please make some for the G43 !!!!!! Hint, hint, hint!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife now carries my p365. With the 12 round magazine. With 15 rounds the glock43x deserves a look. They should consider a 10 or 12 round magazine for the original Glock 43.

Mine work perfectly in my Glock 43X. They sent my mags first and I had to wait a week to get my mag release because of the popularity of these mags. This is a game changer for the perfect concealed carry system, Glock 43X and the Alien inside the waist holster.

The G-Code Bang Box is a good idea. I use a cardboard box from an electronic component, which is getting worn now.
