thank you so much Jan and Tim. I purchased my machine this week. I have already had 2 Brother embroidery machines. This is my biggest. I learned some new tricks with your video. I had to laugh when Tim said "same Bat time, same Bat channel". I used to say that at work. The young people didn't get it.

Hi, Jan! I bought this machine to mainly make FSL ornaments. So I use the 90 wt. bobbin thread (white) for my white ornaments. Now I'd love to make Kimberbell's Quilted Baskets .. but I need to match the thread color and the bobbin color because all the stitching shows. Can I only use 90 wt. bobbin thread in this machine? Do I need a sewing/embroidery combo machine to make the Quilted Baskets? Please help me figure this out!! Thanks!! 💕
@sewalongwithjan2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sheryl! The embroidery only machines have a tighter (blue or red dot) bobbin case, so require you to use 90 weight embroidery bobbin thread. What I usually recommend to people, is to buy a standard bobbin case like what comes with the combo sewing/embroidery machines and use this bobbin case when you want to wind matching 40 weight embroidery thread in the bobbin. These bobbin cases aren't set so tight and the tension will be better with the heavier thread. You would need the standard bobbin case (it has a green screw) that comes with the NQ3700D.

I recently bought the NQ1700 E and am new at embroidering, I do sew and have 3 granddaughters age 5 and under, I have to say I learned so much from your Tutorial, and love the wireless feature. My question: since I’m making little girls dress’s I want to embroidery on the actual bodice or skirt, can I put the actual bodice or skirt in the hoop to embroidery?? I’ve had this machine just sitting here because I was afraid to use it, BUT I will try this week. Another question, you said this machine will take a 4x4 hoop, is this any special adjustment or setting for the 4X4 hoop? Because I asked that question when I purchased it and was told it would not take the 4x4 because it wasn’t set up for that? Please advise, Thank you, Nancy
