@Jonathan Bowen: The last thing I would want to do after reading such a brainless comment is checking out his channel :-D If I would take it seriously then I would have taken the time to elaborate on my answer. The fact that I didn't invest more time speaks for itself. He's not committing any crime. Just let him be. Anyone who uses his/her discerment knows what this is about. In my country we have a saying which goes "I'm not from yesterday". It means that you're not easily fooled :-D One comment is enough to see right through him. When I was a child I was told by family that I was worthless, that I was not going to amount to anything, and was told I should not try to do anything. Since I was born with a ton of health problems instead of helping me, my family looked at me as I could not do anything. Instead of encouragement I was constantly discouraged. As a result my life went nowhere. This video opens my eyes. Wish I would have heard this 40 years ago. So now my brain is telling me I cannot start over again at 60. Now I know those are lies.

@mrgruffy4499

"..to actually see the limiting belief as untrue." This was very true of me. I BELIEVED that I was limited. In my attempt to "re-program" my beliefs, I came up with my own affirmation, which I revised several times. I humbly submit the first two paragraphs: "I AM all and complete. I AM enlightened. I AM love. I AM wisdom. I AM understanding. I AM unique. I am an Immortal Spiritual Being having experiences in a physical world. I am grateful to the Universe for the love and wisdom that is already in my life. I attract the love and wisdom of the Universe so that I may better serve others and serve the Universe. "I accept the people in my life as they are, not as I would prefer, since they are on their own journeys to enlightenment, and are playing their assigned parts, from which they learn, and from which I learn from them. The actions and beliefs of those around me, are only the reflections of what I once was. What I perceive as “faults” in others, are only the reflections of my own faults. The people in my life recognize the wisdom in me. My energy vibrations overpower their resistance, attract them to me, awaken their desire to learn from me, to follow my lead, and to align themselves with me as I lead by example. I offer them the opportunities to learn, to rise above ignorance, to rise above those around them, to grow in spirituality, and to strive for excellence. Whenever I enter a room or a building, those present are attracted to me by the energy vibrations that I radiate." Regarding the "assigned parts" above, I quote Shakespeare: “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances. And one man, in his time plays many parts”. “As You Like It, Act II, Scene V” William Shakespeare (Francis Bacon) www.poets.org/poetsorg/poem/you-it-act-ii-scene-vii-all-worlds-stage Are we "players" who follow our pre-written scripts? Or can we revise our scripts to reflect who we REALLY are ?
@argileaustralia3854
@argileaustralia3854 4 жыл бұрын
Re your final para - yes, we can revise those deep inner scripts. .... it takes time to locate the TRUE deep core beliefs that have become our stumbling blocks, but when they are uncovered it is truly stunning. Then the 're-write' begins... cheers ...

This episode was on fire!!! I just watched it twice today!!! Some takeaways for me: "Believes are that which are true... to us." "The fastest way to eradicate a limiting belief is to actively see the limiting belief as untrue." "When you invest time in getting clear around something or imagining it, you build neuro-networks that represent the memory of an experience that has not happened YET!!!" Six steps to get back into a powerful state: 1. Notice when you move into a primal state. 2. Know that what it causing you to move into that state is your own thinking (sympathetic nervous system). 3. Take a look at what the thinking is. 4. If it is moving you into a primal state, it might not be true. 5. If that is not true, some form of the opposite must be true. What that might be? 6. What evidence do you have for the fact that that would be true?

Great talk!!! Disarming the Amygdala Hijack!!!!! The important message in your talk is to, as I like to say, find a way to ‘self generate’ and create a positive state for ourselves. Freud had it right when he asked about the childhood of his patients. Murray Bowen hit the nail on the head with Family Systems Theory. I grew up in a home headed by a very narcissistic mother and codependent father. Needless to say this was not an ideal situation for me and my 6 siblings. There was emotional and physical abuse by my mother towards all of us, including my father. After my mother’s death 3 years ago, I decided to explore what caused her behavior. The things I learned about her AND myself were incredible. I decided to write a book about growing up with a narcissistically injured parent and it’s nearing completion. I’m also studying psychology (my second ‘career’- I’m a retired police officer) After writing for a few months and understanding the causes for my mother’s behaviors and how her childhood totally shaped the behavior, I have a deep sense of sadness for the abuse she suffered in her own childhood. Understanding those factors led to an incredible reframing for me that allowed me to get myself ‘off the hook’ that kept me in shame with low self esteem. I learned better self differentiation, an aspect of Bowen’s Family Systems Theory. I also took strides for my self care by going Keto and IF- a perfect marriage to my better mental health!

Just listened to this for a third time. What i love about this interview is that they are giving us actual SIMPLE tools that we can put into practice. What would be great someday is if tom invited people who were actually stuck in whatever they were talking about and showed in real time how a novice would actually do it. This if my favorited channel. Thanks Tom

How can anyone be a positive light in the world as long as they are being jerked around by being thrust back into their "primal state" without a consistent path to support them back to a "powerful state?"

@Jonathan Bowen all sorts of people advertise on channels, social media etc. You probably have no clue about marketing. At least he's doing something even if his advertising is basic. What are you doing in life? The people that do nothing productive in life like yourself do things like projecting their ego in a negative way, patronise people and do time wasting things like "look out for other people's comments" 😂

Great interview, when I thought about "I belong everywhere I am" I thought it was powerful but I actually see myself as an outsider but I see more value in that vs belonging so it is interesting for people looking for one right answer because it depends what you associate with things. Growth creates unique expressions of life.
@silverhopeful
@silverhopeful 4 жыл бұрын
everyone is either an outsider and belong. Its an illusion you have about yourself. It's as you say an association and an association is limiting, not a truth. You belong. That's not saying you aren't unique.
