I've had the chance to find a used NIKKOR PC 35mm f/2.8 in mint condition and I wanted to give it a try.
Few days after my purchase I received this tiny little piece of Nikon glasses very well assembled and pleasing to use, either on a DSLR or on an Hybrid Camera.
Let me show you with few examples the benefit of this tilt function compared to afterward modification in Light Room.
4:00 direct access to illustrations ...
And more over, check what I discovered that is so powerful for street photographers ! Watch until the end !

Sooooo this is a shift lens, but doesn't tilt. Is that correct ? How about image quality ? Thanks for the video !
@DidierMOULINPhotography
@DidierMOULINPhotography Жыл бұрын
Yes correct. Sorry if I made a mistake in my wording. Quality is fine on a 24Mpx sensor. I didn’t use it very often but for what I remember I was really pleased by the result. Closed a little for optimum depth of field in architecture images and you have plenty details!

Hi I just bought this lens last month, do you know there is a tiny red dot on the focus ring, do you know how to use it, is that for infrared focusing?. I mean if you shooting infrared , then the focus will need to swfit to that red dot. it's is a complicated lens, but i love it.
@DidierMOULINPhotography
@DidierMOULINPhotography 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Henry, Yes this red dot is for infra red films I found this into the user manual of an old camera « The red dot beside the focusing index on most lenses is the infrared focusing index. When shooting with black-and-white (but not color) infrared film , it is necessary to refocus the lens to compensate for the fact that infrared light rays focus at a point slightly in front of visible light. In infrared photography, use of the R60 filter is required . At first , focus on your subject through the viewfinder by rotating the lens focusing ring @ without the filter in place. Then look at the lens and take note of the focused distance. Reset the focusing ring so that the desired distance is aligned with the red dot. Finally take pictures with the filter attached. »

28 is better for architecture. I saw some on the second hand market recently. We have only 3 choice for PC lenses without electronic aperture: 28 35 and 85D Good journey in France

You should really redo this video with the correct terminology. You could be confusing a lot of people by mixing up tilt and shift.

I changed the name already. Maybe I should do it again. Or with another lens at least.
