I like how nothing matches the outlines on the pegboard, LOL!

What do you think about shifting gears without clutches?

what's your opinion on clutchless shifting?

Awesome Harmless if done right Don't try to learn it on 1st to 2nd gear Start with 3rd to 4th and 4th to 3rd Prerequisite : have load on your gearbox If your gear box is under load you will notice the gear selector is stuck into place (Caution : untrue when a) idling or b) constant speed) ie : 1) engine "faster" than gear box -> acceleration phase 2) engine "slower" than gear box -> engine brake phase case 1) when accelerating (works from 3k up) push the lever to higher gear (it will be stuck) you can stay like that as long as gear box is loaded (ends at redline) I usually start pushing a second before shift rapidly shut the throttle (not necessarily all the way) and come back on the gear will click into place on shutting motion case 2) when decelerating (works from redline down to 3k) push the lever to higher gear (it will be stuck) rapidly blip the throttle the gear will click into place If you don't blip it will still eventually click into place Try it multiple times. Even you fail it won't hurt the engine as long as you don't fail 20 times in a row. You'll succeed on 1st try, you'll know how to really do it right on 20th time. Once you get a feel for it you can do it in lower rpms

Also when riding hard I don't downshift clutchless because I don't like braking AND bliping at the same time I'm not great at it You'll be happy you learned this when you brake your clutch lever

@@Thomas-yv5yw I was looking for an answer from Sparky, just cos I've seen his portfolio and he (strangely) didn't mention it at all in the vid despite it being pretty well known practice and clearly (in my mind) the quickest way to shift without assistance. But damn dude, that was an answer and a half, you're spot on. Only exception is big torquey engines like the M109R and Rocket III, the dog gears in the transmission will get damaged by clutchless shifting, most often on the addictive shift into 2nd gear. Expensive lesson to learn the hard way. I daily a Sportster atm and always use the clutch on that, engine spins too slow even at redline for me want to hammer it into gear like that, but I'd expect it to work perfectly well on a bike like a Bandit. Snapped a throttle cable on a Bonneville the other day and got home by turning the throttle plate by hand, I've got a good feel for improvising haha
