What's the point of using a clickbait title? In any case, I've had the car for three weeks and the only downsides I've found are the center console software (comparing to other cars), the rattling of the center console, and a slight disappointment in its leaning on mountain roads (asphalt). However, aside from those minor issues, the car is great overall. Its smooth ride encourages you to stay calm and drive carefully.

I got the late release 2022 extended battery XC60 Recharge in late March. LOVE it! I drove my first 1200 miles using only 1/2 tank of gas and only filled it up because I was planning a 500 mile roadtrip -- which took only 1 tank of gas with 90 miles to spare. So worth the extra $$ when premium gas is selling for $5.60/gallon. It does have SiriusXM and they're promising Apple Carplay within the next few months (today is 6/10/22). Having said all that, It's been in the shop several times replacing faulty parts. In fact, it's there right now getting some telecommunications parts replaced. They've given me an XC60 (mild hybrid) as a loaner and I was averaging 31 mpg today in that car. It was fine but I missed the 40+ miles of EV and the 455 hp of my XC60 Recharge.

Just some features that I dislike about the Volvo 2022 B6: 1. brake- stoping from 3km/h to 0km/h gives a very harsh stop. Like the emergency brake get involved. Not comfortable. 2. Steering- like BMW X4 the steering is light, which I like it. But Volvo terns more than my BMW X4. I need to correct myself very time I drive it. 3. Infotainment system- no Apple CarPlay and android auto. Integrated sound and AC into that system. I cannot easily turning on AC or choose input during driving. I have to keep my eye on the screen and get into each sub menu to do what I want. It is like I have to use my phone during driving and it is not safe.

I have the XC40 Recharge as well. Google's AAOS is barely beta. First, a major update is coming in April to fix the LTE/GPS loss issue, and this issue happens on the new XC60 as well. This has been a pain for too many owners. Second, many of the features that were readily available with a swipe in Sensus are now buried in menus - not safe to drill down while driving, and you'd think that anythink you can toggle on/off would be available with Google Voice - nope. Third, in one of the updates last year, the ability to toggle on/off Pilot Assist when Adaptive Cruise Control is on was taken away. You have to drill down into the menus and either set PA to always on when you use ACC or always off with ACC. WHY? A great example of a solution in search of a problem. There are MANY times where PA does not work well due to lack of clear road lines - but ACC works well on those roads. Being able to toggle PA on/off with your left thumb was not only convenient but safe. Now, you have to drill down into menus while driving to turn PA on or off. Absurd decision - just make it so the driver can choose when to have it always tied to ACC and when not to, and bring back the thumb activiation of PA.

My 2021 XC 60 Rdesign T6 is in the shop now for service. I have this exact car as a loaner, except its a B5 and it doesn’t have the advanced package. That means that the back up camera is left on the lower half of the center stack screen, and the other half is left dark. I find this to be very disorienting, and I also find there’s a lot of glare, because of the dark screen. The Sound system is fantastic, however, I couldn’t find how to turn off the auto stop start, which affects the quality of the sound as a disengages other speakers. I found that to be very annoying, when I came to a stop at any light, especially because I enjoy music. The lack of drive mode is also a step backward. That being said, this SUV is by far, my favorite SUV on the market right now. Thanks for all the great videos by the way, I’m always looking forward to them.

I usually never do any comments but this video begged for my response. I have now had my 2022 xc60 for 2 years and I can say most of the bugs have been worked out. I also have the B6 inscription model and I love the power and as for mileage I averaged 25 mpg on a 1500 trip to Arizona and driving in most of Arizona’s city driving and back home for another 1500 miles. The ride is great and the seats are the best, I recommend the air suspension it’s so nice. My big complaint is there is no compass. The Google Maps does have a little arrow on the left side of the screen with the little arrow having a red indicator showing North. Driving in multiple lanes we should have a real compass! I told Volvo about this and they basically said the little arrow with the red part pointing North should be sufficient. Mine stickered at just under 72K. Hope it helps and yes I now have Sirius and AppleCar Play took awhile to get it.

I think I would be miserable with the new Google activated system. I toyed with Android Auto on occasion with my '19 XC90 and thought it was pretty terrible, starting with how clunky and out of sync the UI performed and looked against the flow of the XC's interior styling. This new UI does not have the look of a Volvo IMHO and I hope that Volvo will give the user the option to choose which UI to use (but I certainly will not hold my breath on that one).

I bought a 22 xc60 recharge t8 polestar engineered a month ago and it is an amazing car. Don’t let someone else’s opinion/review deter you from checking out the car for yourself. Sure, it’s okay to get information from videos, but don’t just turn your head away because someone else saw some negative points in it. The infotainment is actually very smooth and very easy to use, and that’s coming from someone that’s an apple user. The Google infotainment negates the need for CarPlay anyway, as long as you have a Google account, you still have fully integrated access to all the features you could want.

The car is great, I have the R Design B6. It came with 21" rims on Perelli Scopion Zero tires. The tires are horrible. The side walls are woefully under built, as in too thin. NJ roads and potholes have already damaged two tires, sidewall bubbles. Never had these issues in 45 years of car ownership with tires.

I had the same tire problem with my '22 XC60, terrible tires (lots of info on the 'net about them going back years) Volvo kept saying there was nothing wrong with the tires. Honestly, the XC60 was the worst new car we've owned. Got rid of it after 10 months of frustration.

Test drove this car here in Aus. Volvo Australia offer the google services on a subscription basis, free for 4 years. Only problem, they couldn’t tell me how much the ongoing subscription would cost once the four years was up, and also couldn’t tell me what features were subscription based. I didn’t like the infotainment system much, pinch to zoom while driving…Really? And as you demonstrated it’s not very smooth. Also didn’t like the navigation relying solely on mobile data. Lots of remote places in Aus with no phone reception. Ok in the city. Drove very nicely though. Oh, and the reason they don’t have apple car play or Android integration? so you have to pay the subscription when it expires.

They just re-install the software. Two OTA updates haven’t helped. Hoping it will soon be improved. Overall though, It’s a pleasure to drive and a great car.

In the UK I have the Inscription Pro with heads up air suspension harman Polestar and 22” wheels. Car is great, not keen on using infotainment system using a touch screen while moving as obviously trying to use finger the car jumps about unlike a BMW with a knob to turn. The British roads are worst than bad so 22” wheels can be a harsh ride even with air suspension. That said the trade off with 22” wheels look stunning especially on a white car.

Bought XC60 May 2022, sold it less than 12mos later. Nice exterior look but.... no leather seats. Climate controls etc are difficult to use manually so you'd have to use "Hey Google" to adjust temp. Ours was a plug in Re-charge electric... couldn't get more than 30kms on pure electric b4 the hybrid engine would kick in; fuel economy was terrible for a hybrid. Driving the car from Ontario to Florida only saved me $250 vs previous trips driving an 8-cyl Hemi Ram1500. Replaced the Volvo with a 6cyl 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, all-round nicer than the Volvo and best SUV we've ever owned. Sorry Volvo, tried but can't beat the Jeep.

Radio went out so I installed an Alpine ilx-1100 11 in capacitive touch screen radio with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay plus many many more features and it updated my Volvo where I have no desire whatsoever to go into a SPA XC Series.. honestly they (Geely) should bring the XC90 classic back as a 2023 offering here domestically look how long the Boxy Cherokee ran it would sell. I would have gotten a Stelvio previously before driving the Giulia but, while the Alfa is a fantastic car to drive, its not that comfortable, dunno if the Stelvio would have changed that much. I like the quality of the interior materials and how everything is put together, which gives this car credibility on the reliability and durability. However, I am bored with the exterior look, the dashboard and the central screen. There’s nothing changed for, I don’t know, like 6 or 7 years? Compared with cars of other brands who have upgraded these features like every 3 years, Volvo cars seem old fashioned.
@benjaminsmith22872 жыл бұрын
6 to 7 years is the model years for many cars. With Volvo, a bit longer. Big changes are coming with the EV-only Volvos coming out. First one is an XC90 sized car being introduced in a few months and manufacturing beings early next year. However, the current models won't change and will be the only gas and hybrid powered cars. Volvo is going all EV but will transition there. But they won't update the gas/hybrid cars much from what I understand.

Are true OTA updates working for this new system? I've had the first year current gen XC90 with Sensus Infotainment since 2015. It was pre-sold to me promising OTA updates. They delivered it promising they were "coming soon." Seven years later they still have never shown up. You can do basic map info updates OTA but nothing else, even though the interface is designed as if to expect them. Even more annoying, it will constantly spam you at start up that there is a software update available but there's no way to get it short of going into the dealer. It's one of the more annoying things about the car. So I don't really trust Volvo when it comes to promising things to come.

I have driven one yesterday (7/11/22) and it was an amazing experience. However, the infotainment is lacking when comparing to the competition. There's no customization at all, and driving modes and features are all too hidden. After also test driving a BMW X3 I think I couldn't live with such a basic infotainment. But with that said, I haven't decided on which to get 😅

Lots of issues with the software and tech in this car. The modem is unreliable, leaving drivers without GPS or the ability to talk to Google for days. That means, no KZbin Music, Spotify, etc. As a Google power user, you will suddenly realize how many of your daily Google features are missing. I bought this car specifically for the Google experience, and I regret it deeply. - Google Maps is missing standard features. No satellite view. No personalized destination lists or even the standard "Travel Plans" list. And thats a huge miss because its populated from your calendar and gmail account. Which leads to..... - No ability to send directions to the car. Can't open a Google Maps link if it is sent to you via text. No support for Google calendar. No reminders or notifications or ability to start navigating to a location stored in a calendar entry. - No Google Podcasts. Just one 3rd party podcasting app which requires you to resubscribe, if your podcast is even available. - KZbin Music lacks any ability to sort music. Albums and artists are limited to displaying 99 without any ability to load more or jump later in the alphabet. Albums are displayed in completely random order. - No ability to set a 'default' app for services. Unless you specifically ask for a song to play "in spotify" the car will try to play the song or playlist from KZbin Music instead. - Voice commands don't work for all of the media apps and you just have to find out the hard way which ones they are. The USB Media Player app, you can't request songs or artists or albums at all via voice. I was told to contact the app developer of the USB Media player when mine didn't work. Absurd. Volvo owners don't want to track down developers on GitHub when their radios don't work. - App store is woefully lacking. Painfully devoid of anything except for European radio apps. Volvo has given up all responsibility for any apps. - Lots of promised features still don't work. No remote start. No foot operated trunk. I love driving this car. You hit all the high points. Its luxurious. Best car, mechanically and physically, that I ever owned. An outstanding daily driver. I hate "using" this car. Its a miserable experience and Volvo is just throwing up their hands saying "Its a Google problem. Until its announced, there's no information to be shared." Android Auto and Apple Car Play have been promised since the summer. Still no target date. This car is not "like your phone but bigger."

Thank you for your detailed input on this. I’d hate to have to be waiting for something to come… eventually. The one thing I didn’t get to mention here is that, what would happen when the modem becomes obsolete (3G was recently discontinued and it affected many older cars)…

The worst thing about the car is the Google system has next to no features. The list of apps is pathetic, I can't even pay for petrol via a shell app unless I use my phone, why can't I do this on screen? there's no graphs about fuel use, no variety in display, colours, graphics, dials etc. It is literally just an interface to choose music/media from and nothing else other than Google maps . The previous interface offered more with less connectivity.
